• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have searched for threads concerning the Evoluzione airbox setup, and have been unsuccessful in finding any information. Just wondering if this could be used alone with the Hindle exhaust without any other modifications.
 
I am working with Ken on a "special project" - it's tame. He tends to frequent the "other" forum for whatever reason - in fact he's logged in there now.

There is a high flow air filter replacement for the stock filter - fits (better) in the box and an air filter and box replacement raceflow air filter. From what I have read that's usually coupled with his fuel pressure modifier and the O2 modifier.

Your combo - including exhaust and performance goals - will dictate what pieces you need.

That's true of pretty much anything including - for example - Two Brothers JuiceBox.

From what I have read "there" with the high flow air filter replacement (not the raceflow) and the Hindle you may also want to try the O2 Modifier, but others - including Lamonster - have had good results without also using the O2 Modifier.

I have none of his - or any one else's stuff - yet.

I have the Kens airbox filter and the Hindle. The Kens fits correctly, the stock filter, which is a purolator, is very flimsy and doesn't seal well at all. I found sand in my airbox and could see little dust streaks where it was bypassing the seal. I can definitely tell the difference, especially when the dealer thought he was doing me a favor by throwing it out and installing a stock one again. After even writing on the work order not to change the airfliter...they still did and threw the Ken away. They tried charging me 40.00 for a filter that's 8.95 at the autoparts store. He dug it out of the trash and I installed it later...I could immediately tell the difference. I also bought some cold air intake tubing for ram air using the right scoop. I found I didn't need the O2 sensor bypass Evoluzion sells. With any performance filter, depending on your enviroment, you will need to clean it often to retain the effect. I am in the desert, and with ram air directly to the airbox, the filter clogs quickly. I plan on doing a big mod to the airbox soon so I can use a K&N round filter and dual ram air, but the Ken is good for now.

I have the Hindle, Race Airflow intake, o2 mod & Fuel Pressure Mod and they all work great together.

I have used K&Ns in the past for my cars and they are simply great...unfortunately, they don't make a filter for the Spyder yet...I spoke with the company about this...not sure if/when they'll have one...some claim they do, but the company said they don't.

So, trying to follow what is being written here...who is 'Ken', and what filter is a better than stock filter...and how much better? I know a good filter can increase HP and improve the air/fuel mixture, thus meaning better mileage as well...

Ken is the owner of www.evoluzione.net. He sells various performance products for Spyders and other sport bikes. I think he specializes in rotax engine stuff.
 
i been to ken's work shop and he knows a thing or two about how rotax engine should work.
his hi flow filter did make a noticeable difference, especially with them things(i forgot what its called 2 cylinder looking air intakes) off of airbox. you get this growling intake noise along with better performance. but i think spyder can do a bit more so i am going for whole thing. race fuel system,fuel mod, and gonna sell hindle and get leo vince also and get his anti sway bar(finnaly available in black). (already got o2 sensor)

I have Ken's race air filter set up. Works very good. I also have air tubes from fog light holes to air filter for cold air. If you run the fuel pressure at 63 lbs you can put the o2 sensor back in and it runs great with a little fuel milage back. I have no drivability problems with this set up.(no surging,stalling,good increase in HP)

Ken had a banner ad on the front page here for free for months. He couldn't even bring himself to say thanks when I asked him if he knew about the ad.

NMN has been very appreciative of his banner and has done more to support this site than any other vendor. This is not NMN site and Ken had the same opportunity as NMN did because I didn't know either of them when I started this site.

I also happen to think that NMN has more passion for the Spyder than any other vendor and has produced more unique products for the Spyder than any other vendor. So call it what you will but it was Ken's choice not to support this site, not mine, all he had to do is say thanks and his ad would have stayed up. Go ahead and ask him about that next time you see him.
 
I have the "Ken" filter, 2Bros single can and the O2 bypass on my :ani29:. It is flawless - never a pop or backfire and it has a nice increase in seat of the pants accelleration.
I will not touch/change this set up - I have had several bikes and always added exhaust/intake etc and never had it just right -- this time I do :clap:

Why did you go back to the stock o2 sensor? Do you think it runs better that way?


I don't think comparing Ken to NoMagic is fair to either. They are different businesses. NoMagic makes tons of cool items that are more in line with the average owner, where Ken's business is a bit more specific to the hi-performance user - at least with the other bikes he supports. They both are experts in their own fields and we're fortunate to have access to them both - regardless of how you found them.

So if you're a real gearhead and want to really get some more HP and performance out of your bike, Ken has many options (including a rebuild of the rotax to get you up in the 160HP range).

If you want extra user features, lighting options and comfort items for the Spyder, then NoMagic has plenty to offer. They also offer the Juicebox which may do similar things as some of Kens products to increase HP. Their handlebar risers seem to be a really popular item - gonna be next on my list.

What I'd like to see someone come out with is a better shock system at a more reasonable price. There are a few options right now, but you're gonna drop around $2,000 to get them.

Evan is great...have bought several things from him...and will probably get more! (gotta check the couch for some change)... Also bought from Kewlmetal...they're very nice and helpful.

As far as Evoluzione goes, I haven't dealt with them yet...I was just looking for a performance filter to get a bit more out of the bike...nothing too fancy for me...I noticed it is $70.00 for the filter...that's a bit too steep, IMHO...a filter should be 30-40.00 range...any other options besides re-doing the entire air intake system?

The upgraded air filter from Evoluzione did not produce any performace gains on my Spyder. Not any noticeable ones anyways. I got it because is was supposed to fit better in the airbox than the stock filter and its washable. I have it and I use it but I got more performance from putting on an aftermarket exhaust than that filter. Now his race air system might be another story but I'm sure that's not $70.
 
air filter is 50 bucks and works very very well(baffles off) but spyder can do more i believe with race fuel system. will find out soon:D

well thats what i have noticed. i have no idea what happened but
ken does not play here and mm does not play over there it seem and yes they are not really in direct competition exept for couple of items. only in competition for our spyder allowances:D
 
Ken'e race filter

I went back to the o2 sensor because I had been playing with the pressure to find the so called sweet spot. Found the higher pressures gave Spyder good pull all the way to redline. But rich at lower rpm. Put o2 back in to see if would lean back down at that pressue and worked great.
