• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Place to ride. Please be specific.
I live in Southern Ontario, Canada and I'm in the market for an STS so I can go on longer rides.
I currentky have a 2009 GS MS5 and love it but I do start squirming around on the seat after a couple of hours.
My favorite road here is yet to be discovered.
I like riding to Niagara Falls and my best trip so far was to Watkins Glen. That area is beautiful.

Thanks in advance.

NY Rte 206 out of Roscoe North to Rte 30. Take that around the reservoirs; long sweeping turns and a perfect road surface. North to Rte 28, and head back towards Kingston. A real nice main road with lots of great sights to see and food to eat. From this road I've got all sort of options as far as how the return home is routed.

Blue Ridge Parkway! Rode the full length of it (and Skyline Drive) a couple years back with the wife on a pair of 50cc Honda Ruckus scooters. Looking forward to doing it on the Spyder.

I agree...the Finger Lake area is beautiful...we are thinking about doing it again, this year...we have a wedding near Toronto, early June....Utah is goregous...along with Colorado....Blue Ridge...Icefield Alberta....just jump on your bike and ride

I have only ever ridden in central New York. But I have a list of winding back roads to ryde before I go looking in other places. I enjoy the section of 28 between Oneonta and Delhi in New York. 206 from Deposit to Whitney Point is also a beautiful Upstate New York ryde. If anyone wants a tour of these areas, just drop me a line, I love to show people the beauty in this "ugly" state.

Including the ATV trail system down there?
That's a mecca for the mud-minded!
Otter,
We have got to get together up there for a tour of those great country roads; our Son went to Oneonta and his girlfriend was in Delhi, so he certainly hit 28 more than about a... MILLION times! :roflblack:

#1 ride in North America is Jasper to Lake Louise (or the reverse). Ship your RT to Calgary & ride from there...

South of Seattle, Hiway 410 going east out of Enumclaw Wa. up and over Chinook Pass, right beside Mt. Ranier, down into eastern Washington to Yakima. Also, as I am sure many of you agree, the Beartooth Highway out of RedLodge Mt. AWESOME beauty..

When the weather improves next summer take Highway 8 up over the Dundas Mountain turn right on Highway 5 and left on Highway 6 and stay on 6 all the way through the Bruce Peninsula to Tobermory. Then take the ferry across Georgian Bay to Manitoulin Island. Tour the island and then go north to Espanola where you pickup Highway 17.

Go west on 17 to Thunder Bay, passing through Massey, Blind River (Neil Young wrote a song there), Thessalon, White River, Terrace Bay and Nipigon. Then take Highway 61 south along the top of Lake Superior to DuLuth, Minnesota. There are several routes you can take to come back along the south shore of Superior, ending up in St. Ignace, Michigan. Follow the west shore of Lake Michigan south and cross back to Canada at Sarnia and then home to Dundas.

Now that would be a heck of a trip. I did it in 1972 on a Honda 350. Should be a lot more comfortable on a Spyder.

Many people think that, and when you are from NY you are from a city, and do not realize that there is beautiful country here. Come spring we have got to tour 28. I did not get much time to meet up with and ryde with other spyder ryders, as I did not get my spyder until mid-August. I am planning on organizing rydes and RTE's when the weather warms again. I could ryde in the winter, but I do not want road salt on "the mistress". Like I said though, I will be anybody's tour guide. I have 2 sleds in the garage, but I am waiting for spring anyway.:ohyea::ohyea::yes:

We took the Road to the Sun in Glacier National Park this summer in the cage. Beautiful...Glacier has become our favorite NP to date. :2thumbs: And we will be back with Cas (our :spyder2:) - if not this coming summer, then the next for certain.

A little closer to home is the Natchez Trace (a "relaxing" slow go @ 50 mph limit:lecturef_smilie:), or the Blue Ridge Pkwy / Skyline Drive east of us a bit.

But the reality is...ANY road that we ryde is our favorite at that particular time 'cause we realize how blessed we are to be able to be out there in the first place!!

:agree: :2thumbs: Thanks Otter!
