• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Engine Size

If you do the math supplied in the tech specs for our Spyders, the engine size calculates to 1005 or 1006 CCs. Does anybody know what the real size is or why BRP advertises 998 ?

Maybe they just like the sound of 998, Like Chevy liked 327 over 330, or 396 over 400.
OR it ''Really'' is 998 point something,? :ohyea:

Does it have to do with insurance regs? I know the 500SS that ski-doo put out a few years back was actually closer to a 600 cc engine. I know that it is cheaper to insure a 500 liquid cooled twin than it is a 600 LC twin. It sounded less silly when I said it in my head:banghead: but I will post it anyway.

...Sounds like Math to me... :gaah:

Would be easier to just put a 1007cc sticker over the 990 one, I'm sure that will impress the other
bikers, Back in the 60's The STP oval sticker would add to any car at least a 50 hp gain. And as a side benefit, you couldn't hold a screwdriver with your fingers.:roflblack:

Did they account for the altitude? If I am ryding the continental divide, do I have more displacement than when I ryde in New Orleans?

Displacement formula I've been using over 50 years; .7854 X bore squared X stroke X number of cylinders.
