Engine light blinking and limp mode light

I need help please. I have a 2011 Spyder RT Limited. I have had the engine light blinking and limp mode lights come on two different times. The first time it happened I drove about 30 miles stopped for about an hour and while returning home the lights came on. I towed it to the dealer who informed me that the codes needed to be updated and that was done. I was also told it was a false code that was activated. A week later I took the same route and as I returned home the same thing happened. After I turned it off for a while and turned it back on the engine light and limp mode codes were gone. Can anyone please tell me what's going on with my bike so that I can help the dealer fix the problem?

I HAD AN 08 GS that lit up like a Christmas tree for about two years...but never went into limp mode so I didn't sweat it.......There are a few computer systems on the Spyders and quite a few re-dundant functions......Things that show up on the dash dis-play don't always mean disaster.....sometimes ( like brake failure light ) is only a teaspoon of BRAKE fluid to rectify the problem......Everything that happens on or to your Spyder is filed into the computer BUDS system......EVERYTHING....and it can all be brought back out by the BUDS computer......A lot of things that show up are really only hic-ups so to speak..........I know this is not really answering your questions but since I don't know what codes the computer showed I don't know what your problem was exactly............I hope my info at least gave you some prospective on the Spyder and how it functions..................Mike :thumbup:...............PS, If you stop , shut off the engine ...remove the KEY and take it about 30 ft away from the Spyder for about 10 minutes ....this usually allows the computer to RE-BOOT and clear most clitches

Ask lots of quesions

Don't let your dealer spin you a load of horse puckey. Before it leaves the shop you want to know what the codes were and what they mean. This is the only way you will know what is happening with your spyder. Many of the dealers should be given an award for BS artisans. Hope they sort it for you.
