So, i went to the dealer yesterday to pick up my new (to me) Spyder RT-S. i got there, filled out all the paperwork and wrote the check. At this point, all was right with the world. Until..... I turned it on and took it for a little test drive before riding over an hour home.
I noticed that right out of the gate, when giving it gas, it sounded like it wanted to stall. A little further down the road, while up-shifting, the engine would lag and backfire and eventually it would catch up and lurch forward as if it were finally getting enough fuel. I took it straight back to the dealer (unfortunately not a Spyder dealer) and told the salesman to take it for a ride. He couldnt get it out of the parking lot, it stalled EVERY time he put it in gear and gave it gas. Same story when the mechanic tried to ride it. So....i tell the guy, i'm not leaving with this bike. They looked it up and found that the original buyer had ourchased an extended warranty that was still in effect an i was told that it transfers with the bike. They said they would take it to a Can-Am shop and have ut looked at. They took it in today and i still hvent heard anything on it. I was wondering, has anyone heard of this problem? And, does the fact that i havent heard anything possibly mean that it isnt something simple that the Can-An mechanic couldnt fix today? Also, while we all tried to ride it, the system wasnt showing any codes.
