• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Engine issue

So, I called them tonight for an update. They said the tech was finally able to get the diagnostic done today. The official ruling is a fouled plug and bad plug wires. The mechanic says he is going to "sync" the throttle body while he's got the bike cracked open. They say I'm looking at next Thursday because they dont carry plug wires in thier inventory so they have to wait for the part to be shipped.

It is possible, particularly with a 2010. Some 2010 RTs are prone to fouling plugs if they are repeatedly started but not allowed to warm up, and they can foul plugs due to the hot restart issue. bad plug wires can aggravate these situations, making the plug fouling more likely. If you did not have what appears to be a good dealer in your area (bad wires can be hard to find), I'd still suggest considering a different Spyder, but I think this dealer can address any glitches that come along. I hope you get your new Spyder back real soon, so you can begin to Enjoy the Ryde! :welcome:

Which dealer, Selma or New Braunfels? Good luck.

:spyder2:

Its a dealer in Georgetown. The dealer (non Can Am) i bought it from took it there for a problem i had during purchase and this was the result. Sounds like they're knowledgable and they're going to take care of me. Once i actually take possession of the bike and get him home, I'll be hunting for a dealer in the SA area for service. You suggested Kent on another thread I posted. Is that the old Joe Harrison Motorsports?

Yes, Kent bought Joe out several years ago and moved down the road to Selma. They have BRP trained techs and I hear good things about them. I have not gone there as I took BR1 back to my purchasing dealer in Lytle when it went south for an ECM and throttle body. However, my future maintenance will be with Kent.

After speaking to the dealer about my bike, i was told it would be ANOTHER week before i would see it again! So, i stopped payment on my check and told the dealer i'd be looking elsewhere. I've located a new 2012 RT-S in the same color as the first one. So, this time tomorrow, i should be sitting in my new 2012 from Woods Cycle Country in New Braunfels, TX! Looking forward to the ryde!

Good decision!

Glad to hear that it's being resolved!
Now get a set of BajaRon's plugwires so that you're ready for when the new set of "oems" crap out!
