There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. EBT Fail

Just a question about what this is, and some help from you learned folks.

Check Engine lite comes on a few minutes into the ride, then the other lites come on a few minutes later: DPT, ABS, VSS and EBT failures. Needles drop to zero, gear selector disappears, speed indicator reads zero, the usual.

BTW, the bike runs fine... go figure! I'm thinking either: 1. bad connector or 2. electronics getting how and going haywire.

Any thoughts?

I have checked the battery and re-seated the fuses. If the weather permits, I'll go for a spin this afternoon.

BTW, what does EBT stand for?

The fuses or the relays? It is usually the relays that cause the problems.

It is not EBT, it is EBD...Electronic Brake Distribution, one component of the VSS (Vehicle Satbility System). When this error occurs, you have no electronic brake distribution. With cascading faults such as this, that particular fault could be the root cause, or it could be an effect of another fault. For instance, a wheel sensor failure can cause an EBT fault code, which triggers a VSS fault code.

My apologies, I re-seated the relays up front. Do I have relays under the seat as well?

Do you think I should do the fuses as well?

0 P0600 Code

Went out for a spin tonight. While puttering around the subdivision I got a "Check Engine" lite, with no other fails. Once on the main road, between 3rd and 4th gear with moderate acceleration, the rest of the lites came on. Once back in the driveway I used the trick to display the codes and the following was displayed:

0 P0600

Hmmm... any thoughts?

Thanks!

P0600 - ECM communication fault with cluster. Missing security coding, blown fuse, damaged or disconnected cluster. Check Fuse F9...it could be loose or intermittent. There are additional diagnostic tests.

I would still try changing the main relay. If you have the newer fuse box you can swap it with the headlight one and ride during the day to test it. Have you added any electrical mods to your bike??

I think I have a larger relay and two smaller ones. I'll check when I get home. Thanks.

EBD Fail

I have sent the bike to the dealer for the problem and for the 12K maintenance. A rear tire is also required. Its going to be expensive; $980 plus parts...

I'll let you know what they find out.

Thanks y'all for the good advice.

Chris.

All the pretty lights!

Dealer told me the lights coming on was a cluster fault. They installed a test cluster (didn't know they kept one), and took the bike out with no problems. I hope the warranty covers it.

Thanks Scotty!!

Now if that rear tire and the gen 3 brake pads would come in...

:thumbup::thumbup: Now if the BRP engineers would come up with a BUDS routine to transfer the odometer mileage from the old cluster to the new one, we'd be all set. (Subtle hint :sour:)

BUDS routine to transfer the odometer mileage

Scotty, you are making me nervous... Is my odometer going to read zero?

I had the speedometer replaced on my previous ride, an HD Ultra Classic. The service department took down the mileage and ordered the replacement. When they received it the mileage was already entered. It had to be set at the factory and not the dealership. Wonder if the Spyder is done the same way.
