• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My bike still sputters alittle after all the update and lost my after market 02 sensor. It is better, but not perfect.

Someone told me to disconnect the battery cables (neg first, then positive) while disconnected hold the cables against each other for 45 seconds. Then connect.
It is suppose to force the system to relearn and go back to the correct way.

Anyone here of this method?

:hun: Not hardley !!! Even disconnecting the battery on this latest update don't help.

That is a first. I would think this practice would be discouraged as there is still power left in the bike after you take off the battery but don't know.

If you're standing on your left foot while doing this it will clear the + side of the computer, if you're standing on your right foot it will clear the - side of the computer. If you are standing on both feet all the power will go to ground and it may short out your wiffle valve. :joke:

I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time) but that sounds like a Myth to me.:D Probably won't do any harm.:spyder:

Wiffle valve

That's pretty good!!:roflblack:

Don't forget to hold your mouth right! :joke:

:opps: Lamonster has a Wiffle Valve? I didn't see a post or a how to, to install a Wiffle Valve.:dontknow: :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I think the idea here was to dissipate any lingering voltage in the system---- so you're just trying to speed up the process.

Easier to just unhook it all and go have a few beers---- come back in an hour and that is just as good.

With a whiffle valve controlling the reverse flow through a flux capacitor, the performance can be frightening!

Seriously, from my cursory looks at the :spyder2:'s electrical schematics, it appears as if disconnecting the battery (and then shorting the leads together) should have no effect on the fuel map.

Spyders got wiffle valves? Wow, I didn't even know they wiffled.;)

Be prepared for a spark - may be come caps with voltage hanging around.

I read somewhere-which means very little-that the procedure for putting on aftermarket exhaust is: disconnect positive lead to battery for 1 hour+, reconnect, start bike do not touch throttle and let idle for 15 min, turn bike off for 15 min. Start bike and ride on.

In the Hindle install instructions, they state that after installing the Hindle you must start and run the Spyder at idle for 15 minutes to season the pipe and then stop the Spyder and let it cool for 15 minutes before riding. I believe there was a warning that damage could occur (to the Hindle, engine, ???) if the procedure wasn't followed. I think that the disconnecting the battery step was added by those of us who think that it helps to reset the fuel mapping.

The battery disconnect thing came from Ken @ Evoluzione---- at least that is where I first heard of it.

Be real careful doing this can boil out all of your blinker fluid and melt the lubricant out of your muffler bearing.

No thanks!! My wiffle is short enough as it is.:joke:
