• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

drum roll please......... how????

Well..!!

Don't have one don't know..do you..?? Rev limiter will tell you no doubt...:roflblack: If it was not reset from the 998 cc engine it should fly...:yikes:

If you bought a Spyder for speed ; you shoulda bought a Hayabusa! :roflblack:
If you bought it for the relaxing miles, and good times: :2thumbs:

I agree with Bob. If speed is your main concern, there are several better choices to itch that scratch. I'm sure the BRP engineers never designed the RT to win 1/4 mile runs.

If however you're looking for an alternative vehicle, one that is easy to operate & handle, one that is more comfortable to ride than any other bike, one that produces no heat to the rider; one that has a long range fuel tank capable of taking you well north of 200 miles per tank; then you need to give the new RT some serious consideration - as it really doesn't have any competition. That being said, it goes fast enough for me.

Maybe speed isn't his MAIN concern but he wants to know. Speed isn't my #1 priority or I wouldn't have gotten a Spyder, but it was part of the decision.

Always shake my head at responses people get when performance is discussed here....

I believe one or two posted 115 to 120 mph before the rev-limiter kicked in. I filed the information but do not intend beta test verification.

I still like to point to my 200 mph speedometer when people ask. I either let them figure it out for themselves or tell them I have been up to 150. I leave out the KPH part of it though. :roflblack:

I hate the 200mph speedo. Such a waste of space and the normal cruising speeds are all pushed down to the bottom.

Ahhh, the cost-amortizing joy of the BRP parts pin. There are times I'm surprised my Spyder didn't come with snow-tracks and a rudder.

:joke:

Fastest I have ever been on a bike is 182 indicated and that was fast enough. I have the Spyder because I have outgrown that curiosity.

One of the new V-Max by the way with 225 Hp to the rear wheel.

I agree NetJunkie,,, You're not alone :)

I am curious too. Please let me know when you find out. I know that my 2012 RS-S will do 117 mph, but seems to be drag limited. Nobody asked so I will, are you talking about an RT?
And don't worry about the "super safety Sams/Sallys", they always feel the need to tell other people how they should ride. I don't listen because they don't pay my bills. :crackpipe:

Just sayin'............

What he said... I have both. The BUSA is for quick rides around the state. Emphasize quick. The Spyder is for my wife and I to see the scenery. Can't see any on the BUSA. Don't want to...

Not really a "Safety-Crat"; just wondering if a Spyder was being purchased for the wrong reason... If another bike would do a better job ; I'd hate to see an unhappy consumer. :D

When I bought my Grand Cherokee I knew it wasn't a fast vehicle...but performance was still a consideration when comparing. Every time someone asks a similar question people on here jump all over them about it being the wrong vehicle. It's annoying.
