• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does your local group function at all ?

Just wondering if other local groups actually function. Our Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky group does not function at all, never has. Not looking for suggestions to make it work, that's never going to happen.

We have a decent group here. It is a lot of work planning rides and if left to just one person they will get burned out quickly. We have a dealer who provides us with a place to meet and even provides coffee and donuts each month.

I'd say if you are involved in the group great and if not then don't complain.

We don't have any groups, I've only seen 2-3 other Spyders on the roads here the last couple years.

Plus side for me is people still think the Spyder is cool since you don't see them everyday. lol

.

Maryland Spyder Web had 14 events on this year's calendar - ten in the history books with four more to go before the season ends. Everything from day rydes to multi-day group rydes. 11 Spyders, 15 people are ryding to SpyderQuest at Lake George in September.

It is a very active group, thanks to the President, Vice President, Secretary/Events Coordinator, Sergeant at Arms, Advisors, and the Road Captains . . . they all put in a lot of work to make the trips fun, safe, and . . . more fun!

They're starting one here in Arizona and I got tapped to be Secretary. Once we get it going, I may take a ride to the coast and pick a few brains, if that's ok.

I wasn't trying to call you out but we have people who don't want to do anything but show up. And sometimes they are the ones who bitch the loudest.
We have people that don't do anything or show up, ever.:roflblack:nojoke I don't know why we have a group. Just wondering if most groups function, or malfunction.

I tried to get a Spyder Ryders group going way back in 2008. Never could get anything going. Most people want to do their own thing and anything organized seems to be taboo.

Still nothing going on here.

Our group was about ready to fizzle out but we have revived it. It is hard here in the summer when it is so hot no one wants to ride. The California groups really are well organized and have good turnout for most everything they do. I'm not sure what their secret is though.

Our chapter, the Columbia River of SW Washington/NW Oregon is very active.

At least 2 scheduled rides per month, and lately it's been more than that.

A fun group of people.

To answer your ?

Yes the groups I belong to work VERY well....for me what makes the difference is my attitude toward the group. I have no expectations from others. I participate at the level I choose and it works GREAT.:yes:

Kansas City Spyder Ryders is fantastic! We have group long-distance tours few times a year, day rides at least once a month, and dinner get-togethers almost every week. We have been Top Team in Bikers For Babies fundraising several years in a row. Mike Kilderry (our President For Life/Czar/Figurehead) gets a lot of the credit, but plenty of folks are involved. The secret is keeping it simple: no dues, no elected officials, no bureaucracy. Also, our local BRP dealer gives a membership flyer to every new Spyder owner.
