Does anybody use a GPS Tracking device for monitoring their Spyder's location?

Hey.
Quick question. Does anybody use GPS tracking device for monitoring your bike location?
I am asking because I want to be sure that in event of theft, I can recover my ride.
I am planning to rent it out to my family and also maybe as a side gig.

Where would it be best to hide the tracker?
And does my bike have any relays for, let's say the fuel pump, to disguise my tracker like that, as you can already buy something like that.

Optimus is what I use on my trailer, not on my Spyder. It hooks to the battery and provides real time vehicle tracking with alerts and a flexible subscription plan. I pay $11 a month for my peace of mind.

It is not necessary that they might steal it by breaking the lock; I hear a lot of stories of customers renting with false documents and just driving things away. I am more concerned with this kind of theft.

With the DSS smart key, it is pretty hard to drive away a Spyder. It is costly to replace a DSS and make new key(s). Has anyone here ever had a Spyder stolen????

If you rented it out to someone as @lux88 is considering doing, and they'd used the false documents he's concerned about, then they'd already have the key and would have no need to replace the DSS... :sneaky:

Even so, I'd think there have been at least a few Spyders stolen over your way - there's been a few stolen here, with and without the key. However, the insurance companies and Police suspect that they become 'used parts' within a very short time of the theft, so I don't think trackers would be all that helpful - they'd likely be pretty much useless to help get 'your Spyder' back within about an hour or so of the theft, and while the tracker might help locate where the Spyder was stripped &/or the less useful remnants were dumped, the perps would probably be long gone, and all the parts would likely be scattered to the four winds and basically untraceable anyway. 😖

@lux88, you might want to look into something like the DataDotDNA, TheftMark, or MicroDot Theft Deterrent Systems - if you let it be known your vehicle has this sort of thing installed, they make your vehicle &/or any of its component parts very traceable and pretty much unsaleable, so except for the odd 'not so smart' joy-rider, any crim with an IQ of anything over about 40 probably just wouldn't bother. ;)
