• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do You Carry a Gun When You Ride

It's a choice only you can make.
I do not and will not carry a gun because, to me, it means I would be living in fear.
I prefer to live life unafraid.

I like to live without fear also.:yes::yes::yes:. Lets just have fun. Stray bullets can hurt and kill too.

Sorry I don't ride with who are packing.

I just wonder if anyone would not ride with you because you exercised your RIGHT not to carry. That would seem as curious to me as your position seems.-----Budro

That would insinuate that those who carry live in fear. I'd rather say they are prepared for something that will hopefully never happen.

Using the logic that to not carry is to never run into a need would be like saying "I never carry a tire repair kit, or compressor because I never expect to have a flat."

For gun owners / carriers, the gun is no more than a tool in the tool box for travel. You hope you never have to break out the tools, but you also want the right tool for the job at hand...

This wasn't meant to stir any pot, so keep the temp at a simmer... I don't yet own a firearm, and if I did own one, I'm not sure I'd carry. It's a huge responsibility that I'd have to get comfortable with first.

Yes I do

I carry......even in my own house. I train often, review the laws of my state often and pray I am never in the position to use it. If using it is my absolute last option, I will.

Open carry is legal in Alabama... and absolutely no one tailgates you when you have a Ruger Mini 14 slung across your back (I only do this when headed to the range). As for carrying a pistol while riding... no comment. On a side note, if you mount a holster on your Spyder, it really discourages people from sitting on or tampering with your bike.

You know I never thought about it like that, but when my husband is deployed I open carry around the house too. I agree completely with you, I pray I will never need it, but if I absolutely have too, I will take the shot.

I have been a Law Enforcement Officer since 1978 and i don't even realize that i am carrying, unless a situation presents itself, then i am happy that i am carrying.

Bob, we need a law enforcement icon, and not Barney. :lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie:

I found the map posted showing crimes in the US to be very interesting. Nice to see that I am living in an absolutely crime free state. :roflblack:

Don't the Judges just threaten to tie those who are convicted to a fence outside the jail? They freeze to death in the Winter, or are killed by mosquitoes in the Summer... :yikes:

Me too, I discovered that there is a lot of crime around me and our homes are expensive! LOL

Hmmmm, I ran that map against another statiscal chart and the difference is striking. In other words, the "FBI" map doesn't paint as accurate a picture as you would think.

AK, the reason Alaska looks so crime free is that the FBI doesn't have offices there. Their agents aren't schooled in operating snow mobiles and interigating polar bears. :roflblack: That's why Alaska State Troopers do everything up there. I know, I watch them on tv.
