• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dear BRP: I love you but why are you so nonsensical?

I Miss the Brake Lever

I miss most, the ability to "cover" the brakes. I trained myself to ride with 2 fingers laying on the front brake lever, and with standard foot pegs, the right foot hovers over the rear brake pedal.
At 70 miles per hour, reducing your braking reaction time by .05 seconds reduces your stopping distance by 5 feet. You can either stop a foot from the bumper ahead of you, or 4 feet into the trunk!

I'm sure that covering the brakes saved me from ramming the front tire of my Goldwing up the nether region of a doe on may way home one day!

When I asked a BRP Rep about this issue three years ago; "Would BRP consider adding a handbrake to the Spyders?"
Their very terse response was a quick and simple, "No!"

I would like to see a BRP option simply for warranty coverage over getting an aftermarket kit. While I now understand the notion of adding additional cost spread over the whole line up of products, I really think that would be a minuscule amount, and if any consumer product is to evolve it seems like a necessary evil.
