• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dealer will not install car tire

Take the wheel off yourself. It's not that difficult. Take it to a tire shop and most will do it. And for a lot less than what the dealer will charge.

My son has a brand new Kawasaki Ninja and it got a nail in the front tire. I went to every tire dealer and every motorcycle dealer and no one would repair it.
The Motorcycle dealers would not do it for liability reasons and the tire dealers did not have the equipment to do a mount a motorcycle tire.
What I did was get the dealer to unmount and mount the tire and I took the tire to the tire shop for the repair. I got the whole thing done for under 40.00
Sometimes you have to just figure your way around these problems to get things done.

until you own, run and pay insurance for your own business don't tell another business what they can & can not do. my
insurance company will not allow me to sell used tires or install stretched tires

I doubt anyone should have a problem with this. They may not like it or believe it, but looking out for yourself and your business is 100% understandable.

when i bought my hand brake my dealer wouldn't even install that, but i installed it and it was easy. when i was upstate and stopped in at arctic adventures they said they will install whatever you wanted to install and they just have a waiver to sign saying they are not responsible for any problems, if all dealers did this i wouldn't have a problem signing it

We have 2 dealers in our vicinity. Both dealers refused to mount a car tire on a Spyder until about a year ago. Now both dealerships will do it. Basically, they were watching many members of our Sac Chapter club pay a local motorcycle shop to mount them. Now not only do both dealerships perform the service ( 1 requires a waiver be signed), but one of the dealerships stocks and sells the Kumho. The dealerships in our neck of the woods have come a long way with their progressive thinking in the last couple of years...and I commend them for it!

Installing dealer

Spyder Tony, can you be more specific as to which dealers in your area install Kumho tires. My service dealer will not go near a non OEM TIRE.

My dealer will not install the Kumo car tire. He said it heats up and rubs on fender. Sounds like a bad excuse to me. I told him that on a internet forum, many people have done it with great success. Plus he says it is an hour and half labor charge to do any rear tire. Is that true 1-1/2 hours labor.
Thanks Kenn

I replaced my rear tire two weeks ago. Never changed a spyder tire in my life. From start (setting up the machine on the garage floor) to finish, including balancing and a test ride (and a couple of beers in between) 2 hours.

Did it myself. Took the tire off and took it to a small motorcycle shop and had them remove the old and mount the new tire. Cost me $25. Reinstalled it on the Spydrr myself. About 2 hours, only because I screwed up the belt tension and had to retension it.

the problem with waivers is they may not hold up in court if they are doing something that knowingly may be dangerous or illegal.
dangerous can be something manufacturer says is a no no. i know i am not allowed to disable the tpms light on the dash of a car.

Has anyone run an actual bike tyre on the back of a spyder?

 Yeah... The OEM Kenda!!! :roflblack:

Seriously; what advantage would it have? The typical motorcycle designed with a rounded design to aid in cornering...

...You sure don't need that on the flat-cornering Spyders!

I know that and you know that, but there are some strange people out there lol

They put car tyres on two wheelers

The irony is that a Kenda seems like a downgrade that dealers would not be allowed to install, they are good for immediate shredding and use on a jogging track. Harbor Frieght trailer tires are probably better.
