• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Dealer Review in Michigan

I won't publically mention my dealer but I'm a little concerned of their expertise level. Is there a Michiganian that has particularly good experience with their dealer. I'm looking for one in the southeastern part of Michigan. The reason I say this is because the last time I was in the dealership I mentioned the forum's topics pertaining to heat issues (parts melting in lieu of driver's heat) and fixes coming. His response was I haven't heard anything about the problem or the fixes coming. This was Tuesday the 3rd and now the official recall has been released on the 5th. I'm hoping he damn well knew about it but was afraid to admit it instead of knowing nothing, hence my concern for his expertise level.

Try C&C Sports in Brighton. On Grand River 1/4 mile north of I-96. I got my RT from them and have only had one issue that they fixed. Had to replace latch on glove box door. They seem to be up on the latest with BRP from the questions I have asked them. I know that they have the new laser alignment system.
Hope this helps.

I would worry..!!

A good dealership (and we are seeing many) would be letting you know, calling you and setting up an appointment to carry out the recall. This is a safety recall and not the dealers fault. You would think they would want to keep up with these issues for they are usually the first to know. Where do folks go when they have issues..besides here.. Hope they get with it or you find one who cares...!!

I'd cut 'em some slack...

My Michigan servicing dealer represents 9 brands, 20+ categories and 75+ models. And they are very good and conscientious. I mentioned the recall and they did not know about it but checked while I was on the telephone and found the Canada only recall. (This was a few days ago before the US recall.) They scheduled a service call to see if I had any damage on my '13 RT Ltd. To keep up to date on all the brands and models before being officially notified is a little much to ask. Keep in mind that even if the person at your dealership was blowing smoke up your :cus:, and they knew about the 13s issues and impending recall......................that doesn't necessarily mean the dealership is bad. Just the person running the shiz on you. Good luck; either way. BTW: My dealership is a long way away from you so I didn't refer you to them.

I have been getting great service from Nord Ride in Mt. Morris

I'm getting ready for my 5000 mile appt. I'm going to take it to the dealer I purchased from but I do wonder as he is the person who told me not to worry about needing any oil when we were heading to the Smokey Mountains. His way of checking my coolant was to shake the bike and make sure he could see it moving. He said the bike is only 3 months old and not to worry I won't have any issues, while reading different threads on here they talk about checking oil often and needing to add some...so who do I follow? I have a 2012 RTS-SE5 A/C. So any input, I'm listening. Brighton is not too far so I could go somewhere else just hate to move around if not necessary.:sour: oh another thing is when I mentioned the shifting some times would make noise he said that was normal, and yes I have been following the shift guideline points, at times it is smooth other times not. Maybe everything is ok, but how do we really know?

I see you live in Allen Park so I think I know what Dealer you went to. Is it on Dix road? If so, they have been selling CanAm's for only a few months. I looked there in April of this year and they only had one in the showroom. Said it was one of their first. They really don't have a BRP trained tech yet. I was told they will be sending someone for training soon.
C&C Sports has been a CanAm dealer ever since the Spyders came on the market. They have been selling and servicing BRP watercraft and quads for many years. I don't work for them or have any interest in the company, I just trust them with my bike. They have never given me any BS about not needing to check my oil because it was new. In fact, I was told to check it often because it was new.
Hope this helps you and hope you find a different dealer for you service needs.
