Got back home last night. The ride to the airport was devastating to see. After Isaac came thru last month, the flooding was terrible. Houses, big ones, moved right off thier foundations, smaller houses moved 100-500 feet down the road, caskets, thats right caskets, popped out of the ground and floated along the levy near the river. So very sad to see all of the people trying to salvage any belongings they could. Prayers go out to them in these trying times.

A sad site to be sure. When Floyd hit here in '99 we had very bad flooding here in Eastern NC. Just down the road from us one entire neighborhood no longer exists. There is a cemetary not far from here and a lot of the coffins floated up. Some were found miles away. They were reinterred but some didn't have any way to identify who or were they were originally buried.
