• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yes Custom Dynamics had the " LEGAL " right to handle this the way they did. However considering He did spend $ 800 , IMHO what they gained from him compared to what they have probably LOST in business from the Spyderlovers who have / are reading this Thread .......Well you get the picture ....I hope they read this and get the message and do some damage control.:lecturef_smilie:...........Just sayin.......Mike :thumbup:
 
I assume you can review your order prior to placement, if not my guess is you will next time. I have always been unclear as to why some think someone else should pay for their mistakes.... I am not being critical of the author of this post, however it's best to chalk it up as a lesson learned, as I too have had many.To the author though I do not agree with the BUYER BEWARE statement.-Thanks.
:agree: I would be upset if something they sent was defective But we are all grown ups and need to monitor the order before we click PURCHASE.
 
I just checked cd policy they state theres a 15% restocking fee also if your order was shipped free they charge 8.95 to cover shipping fee on the orignal shipping cost, man tlk about raking you across the coals.me as a vendor to sl if you didn't like what you ordered just return to me and I'll reverse thecharge back which also would of incl the orig ship charge, I believe in customer first all the way a happy customer for me means future business.

I ordered a part from BRP based on what my dealer told me to get. It was not the correct part and they will not take it back at all. I wish they'd charge me a 20% fee
 
Another example of how unhappy customers can do a lot of damage to a business. And all this over less than $20. I wonder if CD is going to rethink this? :dontknow:

SOO very true. the man even replaced my fender lights out of warranty. ( special circumstance).

YOur situation is a bit on the scary side...
If you ordered whatt hey told you to; and it didn't work... they should "man-up" to that one, and take it back...
(I have no reason to think that you didn't; but you'll need to prove it anyway!)
They're probably reluctant to take back an electronic part, because you could have "toasted" it in determining that it wasn't the right part... :gaah:

If you try to push the fact that it's the part they told you to get; that might be your best chance at some fairness here...

No restocking fee for defective replacements. Just the cost of sending it to them. I don't remember but I may not have even had to send the defective LED light bar back when I had one a few years ago.
 
A restocking charge is legitimate if it is clearly shown to say it is "on the back of your receipt" is at best devious. In my situation there was a sign at another register, but not at the one they took me to.

Ann I feel for you, this was just not right......But look at it this way at least they didn't advise you to buy an entire Motor ,,,,,,,,just kidding .....I try to stay away from dealers for this and other reasons ......There are too few Cowtown's and Pitbull's out there in my opinion..............Mike :thumbup:

If it will make you feel better, I'll charge you the 20% restock fee and you can even keep the part. :thumbup: That is what you meant..... right?
 
This why Spyderlovers.com is such a great site for us to use. We can exchange info on bikes, gear, and suppliers. Good ones will prosper and bad ones will disappear. I have used Cycle Gear, for example, and I made mistakes ordering, got the wrong size, didn't like what I ordered, etc. and every time the exchange went smoothly and no restocking charge. We need to alert members of the great retailers also. Because of my previous experience I always go to Cycle Gear first when looking for stuff for my bike and riding clothes. Also, 20% in ridiculous. It took the $7.25/hr employee about 10 minutes to put your stuff on the self and 3 key strokes to send the credit.
 
Never had problem with CUSTOM DYNAMICS...

:agree: And every order is Triple checked for accuracy!!! They always give you a sheet showing 3 different signatures that verified the order before it was shipped. Only company I have seen do that.
