• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Custom Audio System RS-S

Hey Gang!
There are serious concerns of lost frunk space when installing systems with amps/subwoofers- rightfully so! I thought I would share my attempt to have power music with minimal invasion of our precious cargo area. I used a custom fiberglass fairing in which I installed a Fusion marine stereo (very small waterproof head unit with USB, IPod, XM capabilities). I chose Polk marine speakers for their sound and quality (and the grilles look like Spyders) :D This was all assembled on the bench before attachment. If installed as is, it would have been fine, but, being an idiot, I had to "enhance" the system with 2 amps and a subwoofer. I installed a Rockford Fosgate PBR300x2 and PBR300x1 ...tiny powerful amps... and a 6" kicker subwoofer all on the back side of the frunk, with the sub facing out toward the driver. When finished there is still room for the carry-on luggage or helmet, etc.! Cost is in the range of the JL system. It requires patience, but the reward is a very unique sound system on a very unique machine! P.S. Pm me if interested, I have another unit...$ave a few hundred :2thumbs:

The fairings were made by a bike fabricator in Canada- used actual Spyder to make mold- fits beautifully ....I was going to do another Spyder but it didn't pan out so I have another identical fairing with same radio and Clarion speakers. It could be used as-is or you can add amplifier(s)/subs if you are nuts like me! :) It mounts using the OEM windshield mount holes and has its own threaded windshield mounting holes across the top that are OEM pattern. I used Robo-brackets because I have the large touring windshield and needed to lower it, otherwise any Spyder windshield will bolt right on! In the pic, the black metal arched piece you see at the top-center is actually part of the Robo-bracket kit I installed to mount XM rcvr, Garmin, etc. That piece could instead be a sport windshield!

Original post was way back in February. Has anyone heard back from OP? I'd like to have a system like that on my bike, if it wasn't crazy expensive.
