Hey Gang!
There are serious concerns of lost frunk space when installing systems with amps/subwoofers- rightfully so! I thought I would share my attempt to have power music with minimal invasion of our precious cargo area. I used a custom fiberglass fairing in which I installed a Fusion marine stereo (very small waterproof head unit with USB, IPod, XM capabilities). I chose Polk marine speakers for their sound and quality (and the grilles look like Spyders)
This was all assembled on the bench before attachment. If installed as is, it would have been fine, but, being an idiot, I had to "enhance" the system with 2 amps and a subwoofer. I installed a Rockford Fosgate PBR300x2 and PBR300x1 ...tiny powerful amps... and a 6" kicker subwoofer all on the back side of the frunk, with the sub facing out toward the driver. When finished there is still room for the carry-on luggage or helmet, etc.! Cost is in the range of the JL system. It requires patience, but the reward is a very unique sound system on a very unique machine! P.S. Pm me if interested, I have another unit...$ave a few hundred :2thumbs:
