Cruise control issues on 2021 RT - not working; anyone else?

My wife's 2021 Sea to sky's cruse control doesn't function correctly. The accelerate switch doesn't work, and it doesn't always reset the previous speed when reset is pressed. Took it to a dealer in Arizona and was told that they have 4 RT's in the shop with the same issue.
On the one thats been in their shop for 4 months they replaced the cruse switch, then the complete right switch cluster, the brake switch, cleaned and adjusted the speed sensor, and then replaced the computer control module. Nothing has fixed the issue. They are working with BRP on this, but so far nothing has worked.
I asked my dealer in Minnesota if they are seeing this issue. Was told that they haven't.

Anyone else having this problem?

My 2020RTL cruise has some issues. Sets just fine, down speeds fine, but resume and accelerate are slow to no go, Had it to the dealer and he said that it worked for them when they gave it first service. Haven't been back to complain since I decided to do my last service at our shop. Was wondering if others have had the same problem. Have learned to live with it until I get back to the dealer. My brother bought a new 2021RTL and his accel and resume are slow, but works after being persistent. I have ZERO tolerance for things that do not work properly!

My 2020 RTL cruise has issues, too. The accelerate is the issue. You have to hold the button for a few seconds to allow it time to engage. Try it and see if that helps. Everything else works as it should.

I agree with Copperman. It works just not very fast, be patient grasshopper.

You can hold it up all day and nothing happens. My 2020 is like yours in that it's slow to operate.

I have No patients, I am NOT a doctor! My old 2012 with cruise worked wonders around this 2020 RTL. Grasshopper: "You should see me on rice paper"

My 21 Rt Limited works fine to set but accelerate and resume only work part of the time. Talked with another owner and his always works. I have it on the list for the dealer to repair next spring .

If it was me I'd get it in the shop over the winter months when they aren't that busy and you don't ride much. Come spring everybody will want their toys fixed. Just my 2 cents

I hope that wasn’t intended as a dig at K80’s spelling, Knizar, because it was correct. ;)

Dealer is waiting on parts that were damaged in shipping. They should be here in January. Bike is in Missouri and I will be in Florida until April.

Absolutely Not, Just a joke about an old TV series here in The States about kung fu referring to "grasshopper " being a patient man on rice paper, Sorry, (you hadda be there, to understand) and also stating "I am Very Short on Patients" I believe K80's understood my poor joke!

On my 21' RTL the resume feature works better if I push it up and to the right . If I just push up its a 25% success. My 2015 RTS worked really good, hopefully it will loosen up some.

My 2021 RT is working just fine, or it was when I covered it up for the winter several weeks ago. Cruise control is something I use on virtually every ride, easing the pressure on my right hand and wrist where I have significant arthritis, so I would notice any problems with the system right away. Its a bit alarming that the dealer can't diagnose the problem. I can't even imagine having to leave my RT with a dealer for weeks, let alone months for any maintenance.

I agree. Since the RT is still drivable we didn't leave it. We're on a call us list when they find a fix.

Ours works flawlessly. Not that we did anything. Just lucky. Only 17000 miles on it, so, who knows? You guys back in AZ? See you in March! Doing another BRP tour for 2022!

Cruise Control

:agree: Something is definitely wrong with the Cruise Control. Like others have already posted the 2014- 2019 models, seem to not have any 'Cruise Control' issues.

My 2016 RTL Cruise Control is wonderful and it works very easy.

:spyder: I think there's a bug in the system. :banghead:
2020 and 2021 models are having an early issue.
Not sure why. Hopefully people will report this to their Spyder Dealer.
Sorry, but BRP needs to know, so a fix can be made available. That's the way it goes.

TIP: Let your Spyder Dealer know about your product problems ASAP.

I forget that sometimes people from other countries may not see what we used to watch on tv years ago.

No problem on my side.

I have a 2019 F3 LTD. Use it all day; will disengage if I hit a steep hill and the engine struggles to maintain. If I get on gravel/dusty road, it will eventually engage and then disengage immediately. Found a post which recommended a blast of canned air on the mechanism located underneath and interior to the foot brake. Restores function every time.

Ahhhhhh…..gotcha…….my apologies, Knizar
