Compairison between Belt vibration --Smooth Spyder versus Baker-Built

Has sanyone compared the 3000--4400 RPM vibration decrease between the Smooth Spyder & Baker built models? Baker Built is now on the upper side of belt & Smooth Spyder is on the lower side of belt. I may be looking for a magic vibration solution caused by engine internal balance issue.- but I'm no quitter:banghead:

Haven't compared the two head to head but I do have the Baker tensioner and was suprised that it was on the top belt. I didn't expect much when I installed but was very pleasantly suprised at how well it worked.

Mine is on the bottom of the bottom, pushing up. On an RT Limited.

I have an RT and mine is also pushing up from the bottom, on my Smooth Spyder that is.

smoothspyder on all models up to the F3 are on the bottom. The top is taught when on the throttle the bottom loose. However the F3 has a longer belt and I know baker added a top roller as well. Don't know that there are any upper lower for any of the 08 thru14's...:dontknow: don't know anyone offhand that has tried them both...:thumbup:

Guys, this thread is in the F3 section. The SmoothSpyder tensioner for the F3 is on the top of the belt and like most of his products, very well designed and built.

The RT tensioners are on the bottom. Different belt lengths result in different vibration issues.

WHICH IS EASIER TO INSTALL

Not being much of a mechanic, the Baker looks like it is easier to install and/or calibrate. Is that correct ? I worry about the bearings in them both, those things must be really hauling the mail ! Any insight would be appreciated !

Doc Humphreys has an adapter for the use of the BRP tensioner on the RT. I believe they are for sale now, but there are 5 of them going to testers that will provide test data and opinions on them. Contact Doc Humphreys for more information, but it is said that they actually work better of the RT than they do the F3

Joel managed to adapt BRP's tensioner to his RT.

I know an F3 rider in Canada who did Beta Testing on the BRP tensioner, and reports that the difference is remarkable. Rode from Ontario to SpyderQuest & back and was very comfortable with the long ride.
