• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Communication system????

I agree with RShrimp and others. We also use the Scala Rider Q2 and are completely satisfied with them. My wife had some trouble breaking the VOX initially until I convinced her that the mike needed to be really close to her mouth, then it was fine. I'm including an ebay link to the seller I bought from. Their price is currently $223.00 with free shipping. You may find them cheaper somewhere else but this is the cheapest I've found for a new set.

Thanks to BikeGuy for the eBay URL and thanks to Crucified for starting this thread. My wife just asked me if there was some way she could talk to me while we are riding. I think the Q2 will do nicely. The price went up to $237 but what the heck...supply-and-demand, eh?;) Mine should be here in a few days. Thanks again, guys.

After reading this thread and previous ones as well as looking at some reviews online I went and bought the Scala Q2 and it's simply amazing.

I regularly use a blue tooth with my phone and it's noisy, picks up the slightest little thing in the background and is constantly either rebooting its self for no reason or dropping the call. I was very skeptical upon reading about the Q2s lack of connectivity issues and was in complete disbelief about being unable to hear that there's a motorcycle involved.

However, I bought the Q2 anyway, thinking at least it would be something and it couldn't be worse than my regular blue tooth -- which I can't wear beneath my helmet.

My Q2s came in last weekend and we (my bf and I) promptly put them onto our helmets and got them charged. We had no difficulty installing them -- the provided instructions sucked but there are online instructions from a reviewer that make it much clearer. The only difficulty we had was getting them to work with our phones.

We got that figured out fairly quickly and then did a little test and with my bf standing out beside the Spyder and it on, I was shocked to find that I couldn't hear it over the set.

With the weather we've been having (colder and wet), today was the first day that either of us actually rode the Spyder since we got the Q2s and I was even more amazed. BF was riding the Spyder. He was going up to 60 mph and it was windy. I couldn't hear a thing except his voice. No wind noise, not motorcycle engine, nothing. It was clear as a bell. Better even than the normal bluetooth headsets we use for our phones. It didn't drop the call and we never lost connection even with him out in the middle of nowhere and me 40 miles away on the other side of town.

These things may have been the best investment I've made yet. I bought mine from Cli-Max on ebay.

Thanks for all the great recommendations and tips on this site. Keep 'em coming!

I went ahead and purchased the Q2 multiset and they have worked out nearly perfect. My only complaint is that the headset is mono rather than stereo so it will not work with my ipod touch. Still, it was an excellent purchase and suits our needs well. Thanks again for all the help and I was blessed to see a few others who also benefited from this thread.
