• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hey gang, if you have a moment, click on this link and read the report on my cold ride to my Spyder's first servicing on SpyderRyder.com. Feel free to throw a vote my way if you like it, as there is a prize for the report that receives the most votes. Also, when you vote, you are eligible to win $1000 in Spyder accessories from BRP!

Thanks!

Bruce

Hey Bruce,
I voted for you earlier. A story that I can relate to. Just curious, are you going to Uxbridge only because you bought it there? I bought my machine at Snow City (Scarborough) I know it is still quite a trip but you'd save a few km's over Uxbridge. I've had excellent service out of Snow City, at least the one time that I have been.

Thanks for the vote! I bought the Spyder in Uxbridge, and I know there are good dealers quite a bit closer to me, but I really like Guy Rogers and his staff there. Long story short - my first test ride aboard a Spydie was not satisfactory. My wife and I had traveled four hours the night before and stayed in a hotel room just to do the test ride, and when it came time for the ride, she was not allowed to go with me, although there was nothing on the website that indicated passengers were not permitted. I complained to BRP about it, and to their credit, BRP responded by offering me and my wife a "VIP" ride, just the two of us, through the Uxbridge dealership on (Canadian) Thanksgiving weekend, 2007. I took them up on it. Guy opened up his shop on Thanksgiving Monday and provided one of his staff to lead us on what proved to be a wonderful ride through the surrounding countryside for more than an hour. It was this ride that sold me on the concept of owning a Spyder. BRP and Uxbridge Motorsports (then known as Uxbridge Small Engines) made things right, and I truly appreciated it. Since then, Guy has been fantastic about responding to emails and phone calls and generally looking after me like a friend.
I feel a strong sense of loyalty to businesses who have done right by me, and therefore, I try to deal as much as possible with Uxbridge.
I have heard very good things about Snow City, but I feel that I have a strong relationship with the folks at Uxbridge, so they are "my" dealer.
Best regards,
Bruce

Nice story, Bruce. Wouldn't let me vote, since they still haven't cleared my registration so it actually works, and I can't re-register since my email is in their system...Catch 22. I would have if I could have, even though I am exceedingly jealous. Five inches of snow Tuesday night, and another eight inches ending this afternoon, has made riding quite impossible for some time to come. Blowing and shoveling snow is a rotten substitute! I like those snowmobile muffs. Handy to keep a set in the trunk, perhaps.

Thanks Scotty. Nothing to be jealous of though. That story took place in October. We are currently digging out here from the same storm system that passed over you a few hours ago. No Spyder riding for me either. :(

Bruce, I just voted for your story. Incredibly unbelievable, I'll tell you what!

I just got back from a drive from Chicago to Orlando, Florida in my Chevy Tracker, and that was grueling. I can't imagine your trip in the freezing cold on the Spyder!

Great Story.

Alas, I'm afraid all we will have is the memories, until Spring. Hah, what am I talking about...it isn't even Winter yet? I just got an email from a friend further north in Ontario. He was spared, and they only got an inch. Who would have thought he would be better off way up there than we were. Oh well, I'll just brace for the next round on Sunday and Monday, and continue to live vicariously through the more fortunate Spyder owners further south, who share with us here.
