• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Civility.

No, no no... this is the one he should have posted. Not like Bob to miss this kind of obvious opportunity. Maybe his CPU is overheating....

Sometimes things are said and you can't go back and take it away. Sometimes it's just to late to apologize.

What I find impressive is that even when I've gotten involved in topics that had no business here (I was dragged in by Bob Denman....think about it, if 1% of his posts were inappropriate that's still over 200 inappropriate posts!), and the discussions got a tad heated, there was still never any animosity expressed for those with opposing views. Very mature (or just old) responses.

:agree: Disagreeing is natural! But putting people down or being uncivil is is just wrong!

:agree:

I am on several of Lamont's forums. The F6 board is also very civil, but has few members. This board is also relatively small compared to some of the other boards Lamont runs and that helps with the civility. The Gl1800 board has some personality challenges... ;) but I still read it often.

I have made many good friends on this forum and always look forward to seeing them. I even went to Lamont's BBQ to visit with friends, even though I no longer own a Spyder.

For the most part, people can disagree here without getting too personal. I don't know if that will change as the membership grows,,, but I will say Spyderlovers is a really great group of folks overall. Kudos to all the members for keeping it that way.

I happened to check a few other forums last night--F6B forums, GL1800 forums, and H-D forums. On one particular GL1800 forum, and on one particular H-D forum, I was surprised at the amount of vitriol that was directed by some forum users towards other forum users. Very disappointing, and not a pleasure to read.

I bring this up because on Spyderlovers, sure, there are disagreements from time to time. HOWEVER, I am IMPRESSED with the tone of the Spyderlovers forum, along with the comments by the forum members.

From what I've seen, and for the most part, Spyderlovers forum members are-------civil. And that's a pleasure to deal with.

Just an observation. <M>
Well thanks! Though you've obviously never been around me when I've been drinking. :roflblack:

You will come back... you will buy another Spyder... you will keep the Jeep... but you will come back with a new Spyder
