• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Civility.

I happened to check a few other forums last night--F6B forums, GL1800 forums, and H-D forums. On one particular GL1800 forum, and on one particular H-D forum, I was surprised at the amount of vitriol that was directed by some forum users towards other forum users. Very disappointing, and not a pleasure to read.

I bring this up because on Spyderlovers, sure, there are disagreements from time to time. HOWEVER, I am IMPRESSED with the tone of the Spyderlovers forum, along with the comments by the forum members.

From what I've seen, and for the most part, Spyderlovers forum members are-------civil. And that's a pleasure to deal with.

Just an observation. <M>

Gotta say..!!

It does say a lot about roadster ryders. You are right though, we have the odd mishap but we also have a great administrator. If things get unreasonable he shuts it down. Lamont deserves a lot of credit for the way this site has developed. We help..!!

:agree: Lamont gives us just enough rope so that we could hang ourselves; he just never let's us get too close to falling off of the chair... :2thumbs:

Why you Spyder-rydin'.... smart guy! :2thumbs: :D
I'm getting my buds together, and we're all coming over and are gonna... eat all of the ice cream in your freezer! :roflblack::roflblack:

Thanks...

...for keeping this site clean and civil. Most are, as stated above, not so civil. I am a member of a HD forum that is also very clean and civil but they are hard to find.

:clap::clap::clap:

It's actually got a lot to do with simple respect...
If you can respect yourself enough to show a bit of class; it's easy to respect everybody else!

Shut the :cus: up, you big :cus:, we've had enough of you :cus: :cus: in here.

(Gee, it doesn't even feel right to say around here... :joke:)

Obviously you forgot or never noticed that I am a Member here and Post frequently . sometimes , maybe ....:hun:.......Mike..:roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: .... :agree:

Something that I've seen here that I've not seen elsewhere are apologies. There are times when things have gotten a bit sideways here on Spyderlovers. But more than once I've seen posters ask forgiveness and that speaks volumes.

We have a rare resource here and it isn't by accident. It takes more work that we realize.

I'm sorry.

General I'm Sorry

Uh, it doesn't work unless you have something to be sorry for....

Do something bad and then come back!

Gee and I thought his wife had him just REAL well trained like mine:lecturef_smilie::roflblack:

I agree with what has been said here and my lovely bride enjoys this forum enough to take over what I'm reading as well. Hopefully it will get her 1 day to a least try to ryde on it (liking those on Spyders is helping this

I think the people here put a higher value on getting along than on being right. In some places its important to convince others of your POV, but this isn't one of them.
