• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Checked the oil before starting the bike and the dipstick was dry

I checked the oil before my ride and saw there was no oil on the dip stick. Two weeks ago I had a safety check and ever thing was good. I checked the oil before I went to the dealer and the oil was at the middle on the stick. I checked the floor of the garage and don't see any oil. I checked around the oil filter and that is dry. I have 15K miles on the bike.. I don't see and oil burning out the exhaust . Thoughts ?

Start the bike up, go for 20 minute ride, check the oil right after you stop.
The oil level will be JUST FINE!
 
I just read that too, I have to admit it is scarey to start the bike when it shows no oil on the dip stick. Thank you Tony
 
The 1330cc engine is dry-sump. When the engine isn't running, the oil slowly drains from the reservoir into the sump. The dipstick measures the reservoir level not the sump level.

Don't bother checking oil level before you ride the bike. It will be wrong (and meaningless) every time.
 
Read your owner's manual for the proper way to check you oil. If you don't follow the instructions you're guaranteed to get an incorrect reading.
