• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I don't get it. You now know it was made in China... what's with the "jap crap" stuff?

lack of geography knowledge:dontknow:

:agree: Go look at the side of our tires and see where they are made.

I got a PM about this post this morning and even though it bothered me I let it slide till after I read the PM, then I deleted it. :sour:
There's no need for a racist tagline on our boards.

I seem to remember the same statements made in the 1960s about things made in Japan. Then the Koreans in the 1980s and now the Chinese. I spent a few weeks in China on business and saw a lot of Chinese designed and built cars, motorbikes and white goods that were as good as anything coming out of Asia. On the flip side there is a lot of rubbish being made but it depends on what factories make it and what you are prepared to pay. I found the Chinese to be quick learners, hard workers, love making money so not really any different us. Give them a few more years and their cars and motorbikes will be everywhere.

Here is the link that takes you right to that specific product. http://www.usawholesalescooters.com/lxspider.htm
I see it is only a 250cc engine and I am wondering if they are going to have some legal issues. They are calling it an Lx-spider. It seems a little too similar to me but I am no lawyer and have no idea of what is and isn't patented or copyrighted or whatever needs to be done. But it is a bit suspicious. I do suppose though, if you can't afford a real Spyder, this would be a decent alternative for the money. I had a chinese scooter and it worked just fine. It was a 150cc and it make me happy for the time I had it. I traded it in when I moved up to the Spyder. I was considering a larger scooter at the time and my husband came across the Can-Am at the dealership. Even after he put his deposit down, I was still considering the Bergman 400 for my upgrade. After hearing about all the safety features and other things from the mechanic there at our dealership, the very next week we put my deposit down. Had these been out then, it may very well have been a consideration. I wouldn't give up my current spyder but as I mentioned, there may be some folks that this is all they can afford. To each his own.

Man that place has alot of crazy stuff, can't believe it's a harley shop.
The F1 car looks fun, with the 800cc engine maybe...
They have that attempt at a dodge tomahawk...that frame would be fun to play with...
An attempt at the Tuttle "spiderman chopper"...
But the good news is...these are ready to ship:

You get what you pay for. When comparing like quality and specs, the landed prices from China are generally within 15-20% of US made stuff. Change either one and buyer beware.

That aside, it wouldn't be nearly as much fun with 15HP, chain drive and a single sided swing arm that from the photos, don't turn my crank for safety.

Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who can't afford a real "SPYDER", but I'm doing whatever because the other "unfortunate" is ...There is no decent alternative. That thing didn't give me the thrill I experienced when I first saw a Spyder. Things are depressingly tight, but I'm still on track for September, 2009:bowdown::spyder::2thumbs:.

You are about 60 years out of date.

the japs always copy thngs we like and sell it for less I bet it doesnt ride like a real spyder only a looky lue a fake like a three doller bill lol:chat:

Every since Honda introduced his little scoot (Nicest People) the American MC industry has been trying to catch up. Though all auto sales are down the only one of the big three NOT asking fo government money is FORD. Maybe because they started copying the Japaneese earlier than GM and Chrysler. Ford at least now has a compact SUV nearly as good as my five year old Subaru, which it resembles.

There was a reason the the moderator pulled the original heading for this thread.

I'm not against Honda, I own one myself. But although Harley makes no motorcycles under 883cc and no ATV's, sportbikes,or scooters, they still outsale Honda by a big margin.

In all fairness, the asian person is smaller and weighs alot less. So 15 hp may well get that mini-spyder up and moving. And have you seen the traffic over there, they can't drive over 50 mph anyway.

So, if we have any kids out there that need a really cool toy, thank-you China. "Just make sure the paint doesn't have any lead in it :) "
