• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Changing the rear tire.

My dealer estimated $300+ to buy,mount, balance and re-install the rear tire. I'm going to buy the shop manual for my 2014 RTs and that should tell me how to align and tension the belt. Balancing the wheel may be the main problem with doing a re-tire. When I was racing a 140 mph formula car back in the 70s all of my tires were balanced on a bubble type balancer as were all of the cars that bought and mounted tires at the track...including cars that were much faster than mine. So I may buy a bubble balancer for about what it would cost for the dealer in labor to mount a tire. Does it require special tools to set up the rear wheel alignment?
 
I'm sure that the laser works well...but I spent a lot of years designing, building, aligning (and crashing) tube frame racing cars and it is amazing just how accurately you can align a car with just a ball of twine and a rule, AND a firm knowledge of how suspension geometry works.
 
BALANCING REAR WHEEL/TIRE

On my first change to a car tire I had the rear balanced ....But the last I didn't and frankly I haven't noticed any difference in the handling or wear of the tire.......This could be because both ends of the axel are in the swing arm and bolted RIDGIDLY.....and this may make no difference at all.......But I just don't feel any difference .................Mike ..........................and the how to do this is all over this board with Video's even :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
 
If you have even some basic mechanical skills you'll have no trouble. I removed the rear wheel and just took it to a tire shop. The new Kumo tire was $79.00 and $25.00 to mount and spin balance. I use a Krikit gauge to adjust the tension on the belt. As far as alignment goes, the belt just has to track on the correct location on the rear sprocket.
