• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

CHANGING OIL AND MAINTANCE

I just did our 600 miler. The mechanics do earn their money when they do this. I am retired so I can take my time, about 2 hours. It still cost about $80.00 in parts and and oil. I am looking into buying this stuff from other markets. I will tell you if you are going to change you oil every 3000 miles, go to castor oil. Forget about the blends. 10 40 is good.

Always a great idea to do your own work if you have the ability. It gives you much more than just money in your pocket.

You can buy the filter, gaskets, and o-ring kit for the SM5 from KRB1945 on this forum for $17.50 shipped. That may help save you some more money in the future.

I think you'll find that's about the going price on the 600 mile.
It's more than just an oil change. [ ''supposedly'' ]

This is just me but I figure you can buy all the stuff you need plus a few tools to complete the job and still come away with a lot of bucks in your pocket.

Every time you use the tools you may have had to buy they get that much cheaper and you put more in your pocket. Works for me.

On the other hand, if I just leave my ride at Lamonts for a few days it gets things like oil changes, belt adjustments, etc.

Of course there are always some parts missing that turn up on his ride but hey, it all works out! :D
