• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Changing Lights

I have looked in the guide, it only talks about the backup lights. I followed the steps thinking the turn would be the same but I can't get to them!
I don't know if the side bags have to come off?:helpsmilie::helpsmilie:

1. Open the two saddlebags and the rear trunk.
2. Remove the eight retaining screws for the rear panel (two in each side compartment and four in the trunk fascia).
3. Remove the rear panel.
4. Unplug the connector.
5. Turn bulb counterclockwise to unplug it.
6. Pull bulb out.
7. Insert new bulb and turn clockwise to lock into position.
8. Plug connector to bulb.
9. Reinstall rear panel in reverse order of removal.

Now for the bad news. I would be surprised if you can find suitable bulbs in red. You might find LEDs, but they might cause problems with the nanny. You would have to experiment. IMO, the amber signals are more visible anyway. Let us know how this works out.

I took out two screws per light, they are loose but will not come out. Are thair more that I can't see?:spyder:Or do I just pull harder?

I don't remember how many screws, but they weren't hidden. The assembly did seem to stick in place, but suddenly "popped" out as I tried. I think the alignment pins stick a bit. Be careful not to force it too hard.

Success:2excited: Every come-back was a big help.
It seems that both the top rear panel and the lower rear panel had to come off to get to the three screws on each light housing, there also was tabs that had to be pulled out.
I had bought red 1156 bulbs from J&P Cycle which are the same as the Can-Am bulbs except that the little **** on the shaft are at 12:00 & 6:00 on the standard bulb and 12:00 & 4:00 on the Can-Am bulb. A little filling and the bulb fit perfectly. They look and work very nicely and are brite, thanks again!:ohyea:

One more thing, is there a shop manual availble:spyder2:

YES!
I would HIGHLY recommend anyone wanting to work on any machinery to ALWAYS get the factory manual for it. Contact your dealer and have them order it. It also comes with the electrical schematic for the bike as well.

:agree:

Amber gives a distinct color difference to notify others you are "turning" and not "stopping". Amber works VERY well at night to make this distinction. And remember, not all drivers are as alert as they should be!
