• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Central CA to Portland...

This will be my first out of Calif. ride and I need to bend the ear of some people with experience. I will be driving I5 north to Ashland OR, spend the night with friends and on to Estacada OR (reverse after a few days). I will be driving 2010 RTS. At this point, I do not have a trailer...too long of a story to type. Not like I did not try, have trailer hitch installed!

Absolutely, do not forget to bring.....?
If you have mechanical problems, the BRP dealerships near your route are located...........?
Between the multitude of gas stops, try to stop at this motorcycle friendly place.....(food, bathroom, sight-seeing, etc.)?

Thank you all for your kind advice. You can PM or email me if you would prefer.

you did not say if you have a GPS, as I downloaded the BRP dealer list on mine, Also do you have towing coverage, I increased mine with AAA to "premier" which affords me a 200 mile tow. You have to get it at least 7 days before your departure so that it is in effect.

remember to bring cell phone charger, carry two credit cards and keys & keep one on you and one with the bike. That way if you are less likely to become stranded.

Have a great time!

I may be able to borrow a Garmin, not the 550 or 660...just a regular car one. I can pull it out and double check my routes. I do not know if I will be able to get the POI's download, as this is a borrowed GPS.

If you're within shouting range of Medford, Oregon (just a few miles North of Ashland on I-5) you can count on great service from our authorized CanAm dealer at WaterWorld. Just call 541 826-5535 and Ted or Roland will take good care of you.

Okay, you've got a Yorkie too..... so you've gotta let me know when you're passing thru so we can get together .... at least for coffee.

Stay off I5!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the most boring run on the Left coast!!!!!!! Come up 101, up 395 to John Day, or at least split off on 97 at Weed, and pop over 22 in Madras to Portland… I hate the I5 drive in my cage! If I have to do it more than once a year, I'll drag out the 172 for the trip...
