• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Caught one!

Got a 2013 RS-S (5spd SE5). Having the fog-lights installed. Wondering if the Xenons are worth it, rather pricey for $950 plus installation. Also, my wife Becky has the RT-S and we enjoy the radio feature. Is there any aftermarket options there you guys recommend? Also, is there a Colorado Spyder-Rider group or do we have to start one ourselves?

:congrats: on your new ryde.

The Xenon lights are very bright. Had them on my 2008 and made many a car ticked off at me. I currently like the driving lights on the RT's--but they are not made for your model. You may have to do a search, but I am sure you can come up with a better alternative than $1K.

Very Nice machine you got there. The factory replacement HID lights are AMAZING. Too bad you didn't get that bike a month ago, I sold my kit for $350 :banghead:

If anyone's selling their Xenon kit, I'd be game. Sorry I missed it last month!

Yeah, I would have rather helped a fellow spyder lover. The aftermarket kits are not even close to being as convenient and reliable as the BRP one. I started with the Xenon Depot kit and due to electrical issues was forced to go the BRP route.

Fake it..!!

congrats on one fine looking machine...welcome to the roadster world (again)..:roflblack: I installed the xenon bulbs but not hid. $29.99 a pair. Granted they are not the same but I have additional lights (fog and driving) and don't do much night driving anyway.
Check on home page upper left for groups and clubs. Do a search in community..mebers list..search..advanced. ?in location put your city to see whos in your area. I ryde with several chapters of Spyder Ryder of America....enjoy and be safe..!! :2thumbs::ohyea::ohyea:

I'm wondering if I'm the one who bought it off you. Did you sell it on ebay about a month ago? If so, it works great!

Noticed that with the BRP's, when mounting the ballasts, if you have the 12v outlet installed in the frunk, it's real tight against the left ballast when you reinstall the frunk.

I had to eliminate my 12v outlet. Whomever drilled the holes missed the mark

Talking about the factory HID kit? If so there isn't one for our 2013 RS-Ss..and they told me they currently had no plans to make one.

That's a really nice RS-S, only problem is I see a clutch lever so it's a SM5. They're the best anyway.

I purchased a kit with KB CarStuff which is a sponsor here. I just ordered it for my 2012 RS SE5 and I am hoping that it works since they are a sponsor for this site. The kit was about 130.00 with internet coupon.

It seems to be different bike to bike and I'm not sure what year the spyder electronics were updated but they didn't work at all with my spyder. With that kit you'll have to do some Jerry-rigging. The clips that hold the bulbs in are a pita and you'll need to cut holes in the rubber dust caps for running the wires. Here's my unfortunate experience: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?53543-Installed-HID-lights-and-spyder-went-CRAZY!!!

KB car stuff and Xenon depot are the same company
