A few week back I decide to do a cat delete on my :ani29:. Me being lazy I didn't jack the :ani29: up. So it was a little cramp to work on. I removed the converter and took it to a local muffler shop. Also there is a half moon metal piece that slides on the exhaust pipe going to the engine take this too so they can get the size of the flared end right. To removed the Cat take muffler off (1 bolt holds the muffler to frame and 1 clamp attaches the muffler and cat together) removed 3 springs that hold the cat to the exhaust to the exhaust pipe going to the motor. Than removed the cat. I had some chain that was about the same size as the bracket that you hook the springs to hold the cat to the exhaust pipe. The chain I cut one end off 3 links put each link in vice bent them to 45 degree angle. The muffler shop will weld them to the bypass. When I installed the bypass pipe I couldn't get the spring that next to the frame back on because too tight of space ( not enough angle to be able to hook spring in tight space I will some day put it on it will involve jacking spyder up (more room to work with) unbolt every thing put this spring on first because you can move the bypass pipe around) Total time for removal of cat and replace bypass pipe 1 to 1.5 hours. Cost of bypass pipe $45. The bypass make the spyder have a little deeper sound but not too loud. I put 750 miles on it the 2 spring seems the hold the bypass in place but I will one day put the 3rd spring back on.
