There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm hoping this Castrol oil will be good for my ST. I like Castrol and their web site said this was their choice of oil to use.

As I see it..!!

If it meets the specs your good to go. There are several good oils out there besides XPS used by BRP. I think castrol makes there oil anyway...:dontknow:

Feedback

I have read some very good feedback from bike riders that use it, most have noticed an improved smoothness in gear shifting.

I have used it for my first at home oil change, the first one since the dealers initial change. This will continue to be my oil of choice. I think I went with the 10-40, gotta check the bottle to make sure. Seems to work great and the best full synthetic that meets all the requirements I can order from Amazon.com.

I know Amsoil to be good as well, just didn't go shopping for a distributor.

I have used Mobile 1 in other bikes with good results, but now the label clames the addition of the dredded anti friction additive. I contacted Mobile and they said it was fine for the Spyder - but I just could not get over the anti-friction label which makes it bad for wet chutches.

I have not noticed any difference in shifting, but I am now revving my Spyder to the recommended RPM's and being very careful not to lug the engine.

Ryde on my friend!

The Spyders were designed to use full synthetic motorcycle oil.

My understanding is they come from BRP with a dino/syn BLEND and thats what most dealers will use unless you specify otherwise. I've used and lab tested Castrol Actevo 10-40 BLEND and by 2000 miles the viscosity had sheared down into the 20W level. Not a very robust oil at all. I never tried Castrol full synthetic.

I have used this oil with no problems. and the only part you need to check on with other company's oils is, other than the obvious, is that it's made for a wet clutch. I forgot how to check, but that is one thing to look at.
