• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yes, I carry one. I ride alone alot of the time and we have mostly country backroads. You can never tell, a single female on a bike alone......I'd rather be safe than sorry nojoke

as an ex deputy sherrif when i put my pants on my pistol in on my person.

i would rather be judged by 6 or 12 than killed by 1.

you never know when you will need protection.

I am too old to fight and I will not run.

I carry a airweight smith in my pocket and a glock under my shirt.

Wow, great thread!

I have never carried, but many time on the road wish I had.

I just try to avoid the bad areas but sometimes you make a wrong turn and you wonder if your able to protect your family if things go wrong.

Its a hassle to figure out what other states allow.

Here in Nevada I can carry it around on my hip wherever I go with no permit.

I carry when I think I should

I have 2 permits one from Indiana and the other from Utah.(required training course for acceptance)
I know my rights.
I know my responsibility.
I know I'm trained.
I know I never, ever want to be in a situation where I'm forced to protect me or my family, but I'm not a black belt so I best be a good shot.
I know also that I might have to protect "YOU"
I know I can, I know I will,
I'll stand with you!

THANK YOU!!
Its not all about me, Its about ALL OF US.

Had a CWP for about 20 years. While I always try to avoid a bad situation, can't always do that.Concealed is just that. No one has ever known, and I have not had the need to use it . Sincerely hope I never do. Too old to run and not strong enough to fight. Might as well be prepared. If you do....practice,practice, practice

condone?? you have more gun owners than every other country besides us and china?? I have had 10 deaths in beltrami co when I have been working this year (which is on 125 miles from canada), 3 have been old people, 2 have been overweight diabetics, 2 have been drownings and the last 3 have been motor vehicle accidents. So you this by carrying a gun you are going to run into death? I have been deployed to bosina where the serbs took the right to have guns from the bosina's that were musliums then systematically raped, tortured and killed them all with the end result of throwing a group of 10000+ into a vat at a battery factory. We are our own worse enemy as humans and we will always find a way to kill each other no matter what is around.
With all the people just in this post how many have gotten into a shoot out with their evil GUNS ever? I don't get along with everyone on this sight and I carry 99% I am riding so by your view someone on here should have shot someone else over scuffing someone else's fender.

How about showing me where the heck you got that information. Regarding Canada having more gun owners then every other country then the US and China? Really, please...... do tell.
We're talking about the type of firearm you carry with you. I know very well that you are opinionated, but that BS takes the cake.

I take it you much know everyone in Beltrami, all 40 someodd thousand. (Minus those 10 that dies this year).

Interesting point made by Seth : "With all the people just in this post how many have gotten into a shoot out with their evil GUNS ever?"

None have.....and I don't believe many-- or any have stated they ever 'had' to use their gun.....

Kinda leans towards my way of thinking that things just aren't that bad out there and we're all pretty safe without having a gun. You have a far better chance of a serious motorcycle crash than you do a situation requiring you to use your gun.

But I DO support your right to have them..... oh--- but I really would prefer that if I'm in a bad situation that you allow ME to handle it MY way and not interfere (and possibly escalate the situation).

I have an 'open wallet' policy when it comes to being robbed. It's only money---- I'll gladly give it to them....

I do have to say Seth---- I don't think your figures are correct pertaining to Canada and firearm ownership.......

Of course not...

I should have made sure on my country list and checked my typing, its 13th most armed country as of 2007

I believe it up from that but if I can not prove it now, being a redline liberal I am sure you have seen michael moore's bowling for calumbine? he does thru some Canada stats of the amount of guns do NO translate to violent crime in all areas, its more dramatic (or less depending on how you look at it) from the US. But I am disappointed that you miss the main point I am making, gun ownership does not kill people, people kill people.
I know who dies in beltrami co, MN because I am a 911 dispatcher and all that info goes thru the dispatcher center that I have sat in for 14 nights straight.
Maybe I am missing what you are saying here so I want to make sure, are you saying in your last statement that what firearm you carry is the main point of the threat you threw your political opinion into or are you saying if you carry a different firearm with you you are more apt to kill someone with it?

Also if you didn't have such a stable and prosperous neighbor like us for a country do you think that your violence level on your border AND in your country would be the same?

So, let's see. The punk has the drop on you and wants money. Do you: 1-reach for your piece and scare him into shooting you, or 2- give up the wallet and call the insurance company? Hmmm. Anyways, you are right about us Canadians owning a lot of firearms, but it's mostly deer rifles and shotguns. So I suppose if somebody kicks my door in at 2 AM I'm just going to have to rely on my old 12 guage. Could be an illusion, but I just feel more comfortable in a country where every wingnut and emotional problem case can't just stop by the hardware store and pick up a Glock. Just my opinion. In any case, ryde safe Spyderlovers. Hope you never have to fire a round in anger.

Sorry, But I don't believe anything that comes out of Michael Moore's Mouth

AHAHAH, its just the opposing side of the spin zone. I would not say blindly believe anyone selling a idea, especially a political idea.

But the part of the movie about canada was pretty well made and the movie as a whole was NOT what I was expecting and I don't think it had the impact he wanted.

To the main point of the post, if you don't like guns or don't carry I can understand that it is a choice just like carrying is. I think for the post if would be better if people said what worked for CCing and what did not. My in the jacket chest rig setup works well for me being a lefty and with my balance issues.

I was going to delete my comment but you have already responded to it. It just struck a nerve.

As to carring I have tried every carry method known to man. I still use several different methods depending on what I am wearing that day and weather. Most of the time in the summer it is a Kahr 380 W/laser in the pocket I step it up a bit in cooler weather.
