• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can-Am Spyder 10th Anniversary Homecoming registration will go LIVE today

I tried again this morning and I was able to book on line at LE Dauphin in Drummondville. $385.00 CAD for 3 nights.
That is undoubtedly plus tax which is around 17%. I get the distinct impression the Canadian hotels do not like being up front about the taxes that are added to the room rates.

I did a test run on the reservation system for the Best Western, Drummondville, for an August stay, to get an idea what their current summer regular rate is. The tax did not show up in the pricing until it was time for me to click to charge my CC.

Yes you are probably correct. I have stayed at many Hotels in Quebec for snowmobiling and the tax will show up when we check in and pay.

Homecoming

Just a reminder that the Can-Am Spyder 10th Anniversary Homecoming registration will go LIVE today Thursday, June 2 after 12:00 noon EST at SpyderHomecoming.com
I was there for the first one and it was a blast. I can't imagine what they have planned for us this year! Hope to see you there and be sure to share this on your Facebook page and tag a friend! :doorag:

I've registered, and will book my room tomorrow! Even though I'm in MA, it's only 250 miles from me! Looking forward to finally meeting everyone!

If you stop at the duty free shop (at the border) you can be refunded some of the tax money back.

I've registered. Have not booked a hotel yet. Thinking I might stay in Magog Friday and Drummondvile Saturday. Only live 90 minutes from Valcourt.

booked comfort inn 1st to 4th 527.70 total. trailer sts from Scranton,Pa:yes:
That would be $527.70 plus about 17% tax. They don't include tax in their price quotes. That comes later! :banghead:

What kind of room is that for? Your price is lower than the others who are staying there. At the Best Western 2 queens is less than 1 king bed.

Had no problem getting registered yesterday. Pretty easy. Just booked a room at Best Western in Drummondville a few minutes ago and that too went very smoothly. We have a Best Western Rewards card and have accumulated lots of points. Getting more at the Utah ralley this September. By next year we might be able to get a couple of nights at no charge (I hope).
Now it will be nice if we can group up with a few others on our trip across Canada. Have done it by car a few times but this is a bucket list item to cross our country by bike/tryke. Not that big a deal but still something I've wanted to do.
Now to brush up on my French. I grew up in Montreal but have not lived there for about 40 years.
Looking forward to this already.

Gary

 I can't believe that we're actually discussing the costs of this stay... :banghead:
How many times, does a "Tenth Birthday Party" happen?
Being there will be priceless!!! nojoke

Just to be clear, you said June 1 to 4. Is that for three nights, or four? If three then that's in line with what others are reporting. If four then that sounds like they are revising their rates downward as more are calling. Must have caught them off guard.

BlackWydow and I are registered, I am looking into hotels but should be registered by the end of the week. The trip will be our 11th anniversary gift to each other. Can't wait to party!!!!

Just sayin'...........
