• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

26 the past two mornings for me, so I wore my leather snow bibs.

It's gonna get a hell of a lot colder than this, and I'm hoping for a high-mileage winter.

Ride on.

two solutions possibly..

1. Move to Florida or to warm climate.
2. Become a snow bird, 6 months each area.

I am now really starting to enjoy the ryde.. in the 70's :)

SnowBirds

That is what we are going to become, snowbirds. We plan on moving to Florida in January. REturn to Wisconsin for summers. That means riding the :spyder:year round:yes::yes::yes: In the 40's here this morning so will have to wear the leather jacket.

Y'all are reminding me of one of the reasons I moved to TN.
It doesn't get very cold here. If it snows, it only lays on the grass, the roads and driveways are warm enough to melt it, I call that the perfect snow. It looks pretty but you can still travel with no problems.

so far 37 in morning on way to work in new hampshire .... i will ride till i see snow ... and when snow is gone i will ride again ....

I don't know, snow seems to follow me, Biloxi had its first snow in 40 years while I was there, and Watertown, NY, had record snow fall while I was there. I wonder what would happen in Honalulu.

So far this Fall, I've been spYdering at 20F an d 26F. Only inconvenience is pulling on the First Gear Thermosuit. With leather insulated gloves and winter boots, the ride is quite comfortable. I'm considering purchase of the slider windshield just to reduce wind effect.

I'm planning to ride to work this week. Temps forcasted to be in the low teens. I'll be wearing my ski-doo snowmobile gear and BV2S helmet. The cold will not be any problems.

Tomorrow morning I have my first oil change due - 2 hours ride to dealer with a lot on interstate so 80 mph wind chill! It's forecast to be 29 degrees with 20 mph wind - will definitely call for heated jacket liner and heated gloves. A thin long sleeve t-shirt (to keep the jacket liner off bare skin) and then a fleece "bib" that I make will be all I need. Once I put my outer jacket on I then pull on a fleece neck warmer that I make, too, just because I like to have different colors for each bike/jacket/helmet combo I do. I always wear a thin stretch buff under my helmet to buffer wind.
(P.S. Lot of places make the bib/neck warmer combo but I find that the neck warmer part coming up through my collar makes the collar too tight and makes me feel too bundled up. I can't rotate my head to check traffic, etc.
So now I separate the two - bib under the jacket, neck warmer on outside up to and inside the bottom of helmet to stop air flow. Also that way the pieces can come off one by one as temps. dictate.)
