There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. BRP's outlook......not encouraging

Most of us here know this... But I just feel better saying it.

Most news sources are more about shock and awe than factual nowadays. If the news folks or any Corporation actually had an accurate crystal ball the stock market would either permanently tank or sky rocket.

The chances of BRP tanking to the point of closing their doors is equal to that of any company. The difference here is they offer such a well rounded grouping of products the worst that can or will happen is the choices they have made even in good times. What to keep producing and improving on, and what to stop.

Let's not forget they do far more than Spyders... Boats, ATV's, ETC...

Harley and Indian both have come back from the dead. I see no reason to believe that BRP will even get to that point...

I don't know about BRP's credit rating or what any of that means to us, as far as I know they are a Privately Held company. http://www.linkedin.com/companies/brp

I do know that everyone has been touched in someway by this bad economy and only the strong will survive. BRP are innovators of cutting edge technology and I have yet to talk to anyone there that is not looking toward furthering the product line and building better customer and dealer relationships. I get no indication that this is a company that is preparing for the worst, instead I see them getting more aggressive in marketing an future product development with long range goals.

I'm not a betting man but if I was I would bet that BRP will not only survive this economic downturn but will come out better and stronger as a company because of it. Don't cash your chips in yet guys.
 :agree:we are a full BRP dealership, and carry 5 of there lines, And see nothing but great things in the future for them. We have millions invested in them and belive whole heartly in them:2thumbs:

According to USA Today, today, Standard and Poor's "Weakest Links" list shows Bombardier Recreational Products as an example of a lowest credit rated firm with the most troubled outlook. Unfortunately the outlook is bankruptcy.
BRP is doing quite well despite what reports say. They were given government money to help them get through tough economic times her in Canada and also given research money to help develop a hybrid spyder. They are :firstplace: in snowmobile sales and are doing very well with ATV sales. You must remember that BRP is in a business that fluctuates with the economy, when people have less money to spend . They stop spending on recreational products along with other luxuries that they really do not need. The :spyder2: is a new venture for BRP and they would not have developed the :spyder2:if they did not see a future with it and money to be made. Going bankrupt is not in BRP's future.:D

Something more to add, BRP Makes machines for all Seasons, Spyder sales slow down in dead of winter, Snowmobile sales take off.
Not to mention ATVs and Side by Side's. They don't have all their egg's in one basket.

I was recruited from a H-D store, to run the svc dept. at a local Indian store, back in 02. I spent almost a year there when, Indian closed their doors in CA. I lost my job, my ass and a lot of respect for corporate financial mismanagement. and there wasn't any govt. bailout money being offered then either. it was strictly a... too bad, so sad case.

I now work at a Ford dealership, enjoy it, and still ride. so life isn't too bad after all. :2thumbs:

:agree:And also they have a real good presence in the marine industry with their sport boats and personal watercraft

Your right;
I was going to mention that, But i only go on the water when it's covered with a foot of ice :roflblack:

Years ago, I was told to invest in Airline stocks, you can not go wrong with them. Pan American is the best of all. Anybody out here remember Pan American.
WoolCo discount stores ? F. W. Woolworth "

This is a bad sign no matter how you cut it...I would think BRP spent a lot with advertising and other 'whatever' expenses...there should be enough of us on the road to help their numbers going forward though. Perhaps more people would buy more of their accessories if they were priced better? I love BRP accessories, but some are just priced way too high!
I agree

Saw an ad on the tv this morning for California Psychics. They had a special for only a dollar a minute, so I called them.

GOOD NEWS.....they told me not to worry about BRP's stock and outlook and to go out and ryde and enjoy my Spyder, so that is what I am going to do.:thumbup::thumbup:

After all, psychics are never wrong...:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Thanks Dave just when this thread was getting irritating, you come in and save the day:roflblack:

Jim:thumbup:

Could we get a couple "Physics" on a retainer for the forums future:dontknow::joke:

:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

:agree: Let's just ride and let the bean-counters get ulcers...

I hear you Bob! There are enough things in life that are scary as heck and out of our control. BRP's situation aint one of 'em. They are not goin anywhere. I'm taking life one day at a time, one ride at a time... ON MY SPYDER!!

:agree:Just like when GM got in trouble; TOO big to let go down the tubes.

:agree:

And GM is stronger for it -- and has paid back most of the borrowed monies.

Chrysler when though the same thing in the 1980's when Reagan bailed them out.

They'll survive one way or another.

GM now 30,000 vehicles behind Toyota for #1...with current round of Toyota recalls, expect GM to regain #1 next year...good for them and good for the U.S.!!

Oh, and I drive a Toyota!!!

I've always been a brand-driven purchaser; buying from American Companies regardless of where things were screwed together. (Ford, GM, Dodge, Jeep) I know that Toyota has hit a rough patch with recalls, but I've got to admit that they usually build one heckuva good vehicle...
Competition for our dollars always urges the manufacturers to build better vehicles for us!
