They are solid as a rock and she has no problem getting on or off the spyder with them installed. She uses them for assistance getting on or off the Spyder.

The arm rest top part can swivel out about 3 inches in the front, and will lock in either position.

Because they are so solid it is easier than the show chrome ones that we had on the RT.
