• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP short windshield

Bought and installed the shorter/narrower windshield for the RT. Just took a 150 mile ride in hot humid weather and this windshield is great for hot weather, highly recommend.

Shorter sheid

I agree with you, shorter and narrower is better. I just cut my oem down though. I even took an extra inch off because of my height. It works great and I see over it for dry weather and it powers up for rainy days. The RT does have to push a lot through the wind so a smaller screen does help.

Will you switch back to original windshield when weather gets cooler:dontknow:
Is there alot of wind on the passenger? I want to get a short windshield but am concerned that there will too much wind for my co-pilot (wife)

where do you get this windshield from? I'm always stretching my head over the oem to get some air into helmet.

Thanks

I will switch back in cooler months.
Ther is more wind on the passenger and driver, but that is the goal.
This is a BRP accessory. Any BRP dealer can order it for you, or you can order it online.

On my 2011 RTS 1" shorter would be perfect to look over when down, top is right at eye level now, uncomfortable view. How big a job is it to cut it down or should I take it to a windshield glass shop to get it done?:dontknow:

Not sure that this windshield comes stock on the 2011 RT. It is 4 inches shorter than my stock 2010 and cosiderably narrower.

Figured it out:

Stock 2010 RT windshield 27" high 25" wide
Stock 2011 RT windshield 25" high 24" wide

The one I just purchased and installed, part # in previous post, is the "Touring Windshield" sold as an accessory and is 23" high 22" wide, so shorter and narrower than both stock windhields.

Thanks pack, i was actually looking at that one also but then recalled the 2011 stock one was smaller than the 2010. let us know if that gives you the air you are seeking.

thnks

Not sure if you get the bang for the buck going from the stock 2011, but I can tell you that it is a lot cooler than the 2010, with the added benefit that I can see over the small one when it is all the way down.

I use my OEM all the way down and my view is right at the edge of the top which is a PITA. I don't want to raise it and get less air than i am already getting. :gaah:

My problem exactly thats why I want to see if I can cut an inch or 2 off the top, just as soon keep the width as is on the stock 2011 shield. Anyone cut it off like this ?
