• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Brp oil

Seeing this is only your 10th post here, the natives MIGHT go easy on ya....BUT, you just opened a can of worms with another "oils" thread. Might I kindly suggest using the "search" tab in the upper right hand corner. If you type in anything oil related, you can read threads for days, weeks, and even months and never get the right answer, or the wrong answer. AS long as you use an oil that meets the specs in your owners manual, life will be good for your spyder. Welcome to S/L

Here's the thing....

If you buy brp oil (XPS) synthetic or blended it works in all model spyders. I believe it is 5W-40. But you can go with other brands and other weights depending on where you ryde and the wheather..

Ran BRP oil in our 11 RT - 998

The Full Synthetic BRP 5w40 worked well in our Twin 998 SM5 for 76,000 miles, when we traded to the 15 RT. That and Bajarons filter kits kept the motor spinning and miles of smiles coming.

All ST and RS have 998
All F3 have 1330

RT had 998 thru 2013, 1330 from 2014 to present.
:agree:... but it goes even deeper than that!
RTs had the series 991 Vee-Twin from 2010 through 2013.
STs had the 991 Vee-Twin ever since they came out in 2013.
RS/GS models had the 990 series Vee-Twin up until 2013, and the 991 vee-Twin after that.
All F3s have the 1330, as do all RTs built for 2014 and later...

What year did they change engines ?

I thought it was 2014.

The 1330 engine first appeared on the 2014 RT models. I believe that may also have been the introduction of the F3--with the same engine.

The 998 engine hung around as the RS and ST versions until about 2016. I believe they are no longer available in production. We are left with the RT and the F3 iterations using the 1330 engines.
