There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Oil analysis comparison of new BRP blended oil versus used (4,593 miles) BRP blended oil. Looks like the change interval is right on. The oil has dropped from a mid 40 weight to a low 30 so it was ready to come out. Wear and contaminants are good. Air filter is a K&N so it looks like that works fine (Silicon from 3 to 6).

Your cSt100 number looks sort of like mine, 8.9 with 4371 miles on the oil. It's rather tough to extrapolate accurately to SAE viscosity in that range of 8.5 to 10.0 but the 8.9 did raise a flag to Wix. Maybe the third cylinder and HCM clutch mechanism beat it up a little more. Of course, we 1330 ACE engine guys raised the issue because of the much longer oil change interval. By the end of next week I will have sent off a sample 10W-40 Mobil 1 4T with 4000 miles on it. Thanks for your effort. We all profit from learning more about real world oil durability and performance.

I hope you share the M1 10/40 4t Sportbike oil report with us.

Good to know.....

Thanks for posting the results. This will help those with question if they do a search...:banghead: been using this oil since new and it has performed well....

Just as a point of comparison on the 998's. In my 2011RT I ran 8100 mi on a trip to Alaska using Amsoil 10/40. Analysis showed viscosity of 12.06 cSt @ 100C -- the high end of the "30" range.
Total Base Number was 6.1. Everything else checked out fine as well. I'm not promoting Amsoil, just providing another couple pieces of data to file away.

:dontknow: Can't enlarge either of the reports on my iPad mini enough to read anything.... & cos they aren't shown as attachments down the bottom of the post I can't even open those to full size & look at them!! :banghead: Bloody iPad!!

FWIW, it needs to be kept in perspective that to compare a 5/40 to a 10/40, it seems that even though both should be a 40 at temp, the 5/40 normally is always lower viscosity when tested.
