There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. JUST GOT NEW BLACK BRP HELMET ... NOT A BIG HELMET FAN BUT THIS THING ROCKS NO FOGGING FACE SHIELD...DROP DOWN INTERNAL SUN SHIELD .. PLENTY OF VENTS ... ALSO BOUGHT CHATTERBOX BLUETOOTH SETUP ... 2 OF THEM ALMOST 800$ ...THEY SUCK.... SENT THEM BACK FOR REFUND ...
just thought i would share that with you guys ...and gals

i wanted to go from bike to bike ... also bluetooth phone hook up ... didnt work worth a crap ....

I looked at the blue tooth stuff but the reviews were all so mixed and one of the local shops said she quit selling any blue tooth due to problems so I gave in and just bought the regular chatterbox with cods. Cords get in the way sometimes but turns out quicker to plug in a cord than get the wireless to link. The regular chatterbox with 2 head sets and all cords was less than 140 bucks. Not the highest tech but so far works just fine.

that and the box that bolts to side of helmet looks like a brick,,,

I use J&M Corp CB radios for my bike and my wife's Spyder. They are hardwired and have an auxillary audio input with volume control. As stated before it probably takes less time than syncing the bluetooth.

I gave serious thought about bluetooth but the wired approach won out for a few reasons.
1. Range, even with extend range bluetooth is only maybe 300 feet max. The CB radio can go miles.
2. I didn't like the thought of charging my helmet every time I needed it and it would not last on a long day of riding. Again hardwired wins.
3. The hardwired CB has 2 plugs one for the driver and one for the passenger. No push to talk switch needed between driver and passenger.
4. Extra emergency protection if out of cell phone coverage.
5. Ability to talk to other CB users on the road.

It is a little pricey but well worth it in my books. I also use it in conjuction with the Zumo 550 with XM radio.

Good luck on your setup.

I have same helmet as the CanAm version, the Scorpion 1000 and it is a good helmet.

J&M has a CB kit specifically made for the Spyder complete with installation instructions for the Spyder. They changed the push to talk switch to mount directly on the handlebar.

bjt and I just ordered two of the J&M CB radios for the Spyder. We ordered from Sierra Electronics and saved a bundle http://www.sierra-mc.com/search.asp $535.50 per kit. We already have the helmet headsets as we have been using the J&M Integratr with two way radios but that is just too many cords and making sure the radios are charged is a pain. Also, we have been on some long rides and if you use the radios a lot, they go dead. We did have to buy new lower cords for our new kit but in the long run I think we will be much happier with this. Also, for us blue tooth just isn't in the cards. We want to get hold of each other from a bigger distance when necessary.

You will need a SWR meter to tune the antenna. If you know a CB'er maybe you can borrow one. If not Radio Shack has them for about $50.00 you will also need a male to male adapter cable.

I think you will really like this setup.

What is the male to male adapter cable for?

I have an SWR meter around here somewhere. It has been a while, so it's probably buried deep.

Aha, finally, now we will have to meet each other in person.:2thumbs::2thumbs:
Thank you for the offer, we'll let you know if you need to start digging.

You basically insert the SWR meter in line with the antenna cable. The cable has a male and female connector to do this. The SWR meter from radio shack has 2 female connectors. One for the input and the other for the output. So you will have adapt a female connector to a male connector.

Question...

Is there anything out there yet to transport a dog? Might be silly but my dog usually goes with me everywhere and there's no place on the Spyder yet...I see you have a trailer...are there any for dogs, or is there anything that can hang off and support a 50 lb. dog?

Thanks...
