• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have owned 2 Spyders, 2009 RS and 2012 RT, and had no problems with the RS. Had the orange screen of death several times with the RT which caused me to trade it. I could never fully enjoy my rides when in the back of my head I kept wondering when it was going to shut me down again. Can Am has had plenty of time to make Spyders reasonably reliable but they have not done so. On top of that it is hard to find a good dealer and many of you have posted about the hassle of trying to get something out of the home office. Can Am charges a hefty price for a machine that might get you there or it might not. Please - I don't want to hear about those of you who have made trips of thousands of miles with no problems. That's not the point. The problem with Can Am is the people who make it - they don't give a damn and as long as people like many on this forum keep buying them they never will give a damn. I now ride a very reliable motorcycle and that is a Yamaha, my 3d, and I NEVER worry about the bike breaking down on me - EVER. Why am I posting this? I have continued to pop in on Spyderlovers to see what is going on in the world of Spyders and keep informed about what's new and hoping that someday things would change but alas - over the years nothing has changed. I will continue to check in and read many of your posts but I will never leave Yamaha again - proven the most reliable and trustworthy motorcycle in the world.

I have to agree with you on Yamaha - the best all around motorcycle I have ever owned was a Yamaha FZ1 ( and I've owned 16 over the years). I purchased my first Spyder in 2008 and kept my FZ1 for three more years before I reluctantly sold it. Loved that bike - what a couch rocket.

I also agree that Can-Am doesn't seem to be focused on Reliability/Dependability as number one priority. When there is no competition, there isn't any incentive to focus on quality. When quality has a direct link to sales then all management gets behind it. Even the so called Quality is #1 car/truck manufacturers have there share of major recalls and vehicle caused deaths by faulty components/design.

Having said all that, Thank You Thank You Can-Am for the Spyder:clap::bowdown: - it brings me great joy that I can still enjoy true open road riding - love it love it. It even brings a smile to this grumpy old man every time I ride it. Compared to some, so far I have been lucky to have, what I would call a quality Spyder twice now. I have never been stranded, nor been in a dangerous riding condition caused by a Spyder malfunction.

I usually don't reply to blowhards such as yourself "Buckeye" but I have to correct the record. I called NO ONE a liar. Your reading comprehension is lacking to say the least. Yes you have the right to praise the product but no more than I have the right to be here. You might want to read rules for posting because I'm pretty sure it doesn't say that one has to be a current owner in order to make posts. I have been a member of this forum for a few years and although I haven't made a lot of posts I do pop in from time to time to see what is going on in the world of Spyders. The great majority of time I read some posts and do not reply or make a post. I will continue to occasionally come by in order to keep up with what's going on and will not be deterred by the likes of someone who barks at anyone who does not agree with him with a comment like "...go pound salt, big guy." Sound familiar?

Well, I will admit that I took some liberty in the use of the word "Liars" but you did say that you did not want anyone to respond with praises for the product as to imply that we only act as though we are happy. The fact is that you sold yours, you don't own one, you make posts just to spread your own misery from a bad experience. As I said, I can feel for you and the negative experience that you had with the product. Why not focus on the positive experience that you have now, release the negativity from the Can-Am and move on with your life.
Heavans, I ha a practice wife once too, but I have moved on, I don't look back, I don't go on social media and vocalize negativity toward her and her family, why do you insist on living in the past swamp of mistakes? Embrace your new life and leave the failures of the past to rest in peace.

Every man made machine will have problems.I have been very lucky i guess.Been riding over 40 years and never had a bad bike.Went from 2 strokes to cruisers then to a Goldwing. Now i have a Spyder and love it.I have a great dealer that treats me well.If i was worried about breaking down it would be gone.Life is to short to worry about things we have no control over.I think brp does care it,s in business to make money like every other business. And if you don,t listen to your costumers you will fail.

Okay, I've taken a deep breath now and feel better. Sorry for the negativity and sorry for jumping on you but you have to admit you jumped first. That said I will close by saying I sometimes get angry at Can Am because I really liked the Spyder. The wife and I had some good times on it. However I never felt comfortable enough with the reliability to take a long trip with it and I blame Can Am for that. They have had time to work the bugs out. That is why I am so negative. The Spyder is otherwise a wonderful machine. Maybe that's the reason I am still hanging around - I'm waiting for the bulletproof Spyder and when it appears it most likely will appear on this forum:)

Worth the effort to send to BRP Cares

I have a 2015 Spyder F3. I had one of the headlight high beams burn out within 7 months. I called the dealership and they said that it was not covered under the warranty. I sent an email to BRP Cares and within 24 hrs I got a response back that it was covered under warranty.

I have a few more issues that the dealership are "slacking on" (belt vibration and rear shock) that I will send to BRP Cares to see what their response is.

When the trust is gone: find yourself another dealer! nojoke
BRP has very little (if any!) input as to how the dealership is run. Take your concerns to the owner: he's the one who can "jack someone up"; if that's what is needed.

:agree:

At around 2:00PM the OP created this thread with a legit beef.
He could not communicate with the person at BRP whom he believed could help him.

Hope I used whom correctly.

Amongst the usual bashing and negative posts were some that offered some useful information.

The OP took the initiative and followed through.
At 6:00PM his issue was on its way to a resolution.

Maybe shaking your fist and yelling at the sky isn't the best way to get BRP's attention.

We just came back from our dealer to ask about the vibrations and high whine sound on my wife's F3, and he told us that BRP has a possible fix for it. He asked my wife if she wants to be a guinea pig for the fix. She said yes, so he said to give him a call next week, and he will know more information. He wouldn't give much info on it, but if it a free fix then we are all for it.

Good luck on the fix.If you don,t mind me asking who is your dealer? We deal with Loiselle and have had great service.

I always try to maintain my cool. Sometimes it is hard, but I want to thank all of you that jumped in with the helpful contact info and thank Steve and his Team. At brp cares for jumping on this problem this morning. I have had four contacts via email this morning and my dealer has had two phones calls as well and it appears a fix will happen a lot faster than anticipated! BRP does care!
Great to hear, my friend!
