• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Apple Car Play Compensation

Just got back from my dealer. Finally got my firmware flashed over so my media app now works with speakers. While downloading patch, the BRP rep said a major update is in the works which included ACP. NO timeframe was talked of.

Im curious about the Media app firmware patch that you got. Is this something that I could just ride in to my dealer and ask to have done, or is this something that the dealership would have to request to BRP for a specific download? I have an appointment next Wednesday for my initial 3,000 mile service (slightly over at 4,000 miles but who's counting). That would be a good time to do this firmware flash.

I am wondering about this too, as I have to delete my phones Bluetooth connection and repair every time now. If I don’t it just never connects

I just contacted my dealer about the problem of my iPhone not playing music on my Spyder, and all he did was check the BRP forum to see if any posts were posted about a patch; and his reply was "nothing posted here." Not very helpful.

I had previously emailed a list of items I wanted as my Carplay compensation to my salesman. In a previous visit I learned that some of my choices were no longer available, and after chatting with the parts guy who is processing my order, he told me that the items that were available came up short of the $500 amount, and asked if I knew of anything else I was interested in. I didn't, but said I'd check and get back to him. So, after poking around the Can-Am website, I found something else, so I drove up to talk to him about it. He had also asked for a copy of the letter I received from BRP telling me about the compensation, so I copied it and took that, too.

Once there, he checked the availability of the new items, and he thanked me for the copy of the letter. He did tell me that I had gone over the $500, and I asked if I needed to pay the difference right then, and he immediately said no, that I could pay the amount I was over and the sales tax when I picked up everything. He said it would take him about a week for everything to arrive, and that he'd call me when I could come pick it up.

So, I should have an update by the end of the month.

racoon... Mind sharing what you ordered? I still have to take mine in to get the working ACP update done, but I haven't looked to see what might be gotten for the $500 credit.

Anyone still have their physical letter about this reimbursement program? I can't find mine for the life of me and the dealer says without they can't do anything. Not sure if there was a special code tied to the owner, I thought it just said you had to present bill of sale, which I did.

I will e-mail Can-Am and see if they can send me anything via email.

I have mine.
The parts guy wanted to see it in order for them to accept my order for the CarPlay compensation. I scanned a copy of it and emailed it to him, and also took him a printed copy.

I also took the original letter with me the first time I went in about the CarPlay issue, and when my salesman came back from talking with his boss, he had a copy of Page 2 of the letter the dealer's received.

Thanks! I'll look around again and see if I can find it, otherwise I'll ask Can-Am to resend it or better yet email me a copy.

I got an email from my someone at my dealer a few minutes ago, telling me:

Your special order NNNNN has arrived and is ready for you to pickup.

There was an attachment, which was a PDF file of my order listing the details of the 6 items I ordered, the same list as my post #67 above.
The curious thing is the total says "Balance Due" of $557.11, which is the total of the items I ordered plus the Sales Tax of $47.17.
I expect to pay the $57.11 that exceeds the $500 compensation offer, which is what was confirmed by the parts guy I worked with.

What I think is going on is that their computer system requires the order amount ($509.94) to be listed so that it will calculate the correct sales tax.

The email was not from the parts person I worked with, and it doesn't list the sender's title, so we'll see what happens.

I'll go up tomorrow morning to pickup my stuff.
Hopefully I'll have an update and maybe some pictures. :D

After another 85 mile trip to the dealer, we went down a new rabbit hole.

When I walked up to the parts desk the guy I've been working with at got a horrified look on his face.
I greeted him, and said I received an email from "Pam" saying my order was ready for pickup.
He looked over his shoulder, to where there is a wire rack shelving unit standing next to the wall.
There were a couple of small boxes and some of those plastic 'shipping bags' on one of the shelves. The rest of the shelves were empty.

He turned back to me and pointed over his shoulder with his thumb, and said "That's all of your order, but..."

BRP/CAN-AM approved my selection, and they were able to get the latest list of things I wanted.

He reminded me of one of the earliest conversations we'd had about the cost of the items on my list.
When he looked them up in his computer what he saw was the dealer cost, not the retail list price that we all see when look them up on the Can-Am website as a customer.
I am assuming that Can-Am will be reimbursing the dealer for their costs involved in giving us the items, which hopefully they are, but he can't give them to me until his manager signs off on the amount.

And she hasn't signed off yet.

So another 170 miles on my Honda Ridgeline, and I still don't have my CarPlay "stuff".

The parts guy did confirm he had my correct phone number, and said he'd call me as soon as he got her to sign off on the order.

:::sigh:::

A week has passed and I haven't heard back from the parts guy, so I last night I sent him an email asking if the manager had signed off.
In the past he's told me he only checks his email first thing in the morning, and I guess he was telling the truth, as I received a response before 9am this morning.

The response was basically "not yet, but soon".

So now I'm wondering if I need to poke BRP/CAN-AM about the issue to see if they'll check with the dealer to see what the hold up is.

:::sigh:::

So I decided that I needed to check with BRP to see if there is some problem. I found a "contact us" form on their website, and submitted my complaint about what was happening.

I received an email at 9:37 pm last night, saying they were sorry about the delay (in getting my "stuff"), and asking if I could give him the VIN so he can work with the dealership to "get this completed."
I replied at 10:15pm last night with my VIN and am still waiting to hear something.

I'll update when something happens.

I scanned my Bill of Sale and included the BRP email and sent it to the parts/service guy as instructed. Of course, have heard nothing back yet after a week. I may go up in person Saturday and see what's going on.

I was able to pickup my "stuff" today, although there was a bit of a snag.

The order total for the things I selected WAS $557.11, which included the sales tax, so US $57.11 over the $500 Apple Carplay Compensation amount.

Figuring out how to charge me the $57.11 was a bit of a problem, as his computer wouldn't let him do it.
He eventually called someone, they talked for a bit, and from the side of the conversation I heard they manually created a new invoice for the $57.11 without tieing it to the Carplay order.
I paid it, and got my stuff.

At the top of the receipt I received it says: Miscellaneous Receipt
