I was doing about 25 MPH through the city about 10 miles from home and had enough momentum to coast into a parking lot. After calling my wife to come get me, I called BEST for towing service. I knew without drive capability, I'd never get it into my trailer. A flatbed arrived two hours later to bring it back to my house.
Not sure why it broke, but I suspect it was related to my rear tire replacement about a week ago. I used the Lamont method to drop the rear tire and everything looked good after my test ride. Next time I'll double-check belt alignment and tension after a day or two in case there's any movement.
Oh, well. I guess I can take the opportunity to swap out the original bearings when I put the new belt on.
