• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Breaking Panel Nuts

Flamewinger

When removing the panels I've found two clips where the spring broke and I'm wondering if I should buy a bunch to replace others when they break or is this a one off?

Or is there an alternative that doesn't break?

Thanks

Depends..!

always good to have on hand just a few they don't break that often depending on whos doing the work and what tools they use. If you remove the panel often then have some of the nylon washers that go on the torx scews as well. I use an electric screw driver with torque settings to avoid over tightening...

FWIW, you might also stock a few plastic rivets too.

Clipnuts, regardless of the application can fail, so few on hand may not be a bad thing.

I've had my panels off a dozen times for one reason or another. I try to get mods done in bunches so I just have to remove one time, but something else always comes up. Lol

So it's good to have spares because these small parts break down.

Ive broke 2 of those clips you show, probably more from not taking my time and making sure I have the right size bolt being threaded. :banghead:

Thanks. I've got an order of bits n parts coming. The panel nuts along with washers and oil drain bolts.

It's quite a bit different than the Goldwing.
