• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Break Squeak!

I have just over 1700 miles on my F3. I have terrible break squeaking and the dealer is telling me it's normal. "Just clean the rotors and calipers with soap and water and it'll go away" They tell me that Spyders are notorious for break dust build up.

The dealer washed the front wheels and the squeaking up there went away. Now it's only the back one.

Is this normal?

It is a normal thing for Spyders, but I haven't experianced it on my F3, though I only have about 500 miles on it.

These Brembo mono-blocks are oustanding brakes, and the pads they use just naturally
expel the dust we see which can cause a squeel after some build-up. As was said, a good
washing or even I'll get in there with some compressed air to clean them after a ride.

Captain, we live near you. For us, probably on similar roads, our 14 RTs has intermittent squeaky brakes. Brake dust in all forms can make it happen. Not sure where you live exactly, but consider if you live further west, in areas with dirt road this will add to the problem.

All the best with it.

Thanks!
I have compressed air, break cleaner and good old fashioned soap and water. I'll add it to my weekly cleaning routine to touch up the rotors and calipers.
Thanks again!

Sadly I have the same issue on my 14 rts, just had to use break cleaner. Drives me insane sometimes until I find an open parking lot to use the cleaner. I wouldn't do it in your garage, leaves a mess!

Thanks!

Break squeaking

My F3S has 3,000 mile sand the squeaking gets worse and louder. Besides washing the wheels and rotors isn't there something else that can stop the madness??
