• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Break-in of 2016 rt 1330 ENGINE

My Dealer recommended to change the oil on a new 2015 RT-Limited between 600 and 1000 miles. Said it was his feelling that it is always good to get any metal shavings etc., out of the engine asap, so that is why he recommended the first change at that interval. After that go the regular intervals.[/QUOTE dealer just wants your money! Probably wants $400 for oil change as well. Ryde more spend less!

The dealer is hanging onto "old notions", and the maintenance schedule of the 998s...
He needs to be able to "change gears"; when changing bikes! :banghead:

Follow schedule and you will have not problem. My only suggestions, #1 is ryde like you would normally (don't baby it) but don't hold any constant speeds for long periods of time. Keep changing your speeds and rpm's for 600 miles or so. #2 don't wait the 9,300 mile for the next oil change that they recommend. That is a bit to long imho...[/QUOTE]

Funny guy first sentance follow the book they know best. Last sentance do not listen to them 9,300 too long.Second sentance Factory does not recomend drive as normal, they suggest not giving full throttle at first.

My 2014 RT had 654 miles on it when I got it. I was going to be at Spyderfest when the 3000 mile service would be due, so on the advice of the local service tech I changed the oil at 1200 miles. The 3000 mile service will be done at something like 5500 miles. He said an early oil change followed by a late 3000 mile service was preferable to delaying the first oil change.
Finally got it done at 5928. See here for more http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...e-14-RTS-SE6&p=1146449&viewfull=1#post1146449
