• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Review: Brakefree Helmet Light

Thank you for the post!! I don't think my navigator would like that light much, But I was thinking it would be a great thing for snowmobiling, wonder how it would hold up in subzero weather???

Rechargeable battery just like garmins etc. I note that my garmin does not work good if the temps get over 90 degrees, have not tried cold weather operation yet.

I was thinking the same and then realized if I purchased a second helmet mount I could attach it to the navigator's helmet.

I am only going to buy one unit, but since I have two different bikes, and two different helmets, I have ordered a set of attachment units so I have one for the other helmet and a spare. Cost for two is $15.99 but I got them on sale for $12.99 plus $3.00 shipping.

I don't know the technical stuff. The light picks up a signal from the brakes and just goes on when the brake is applied. The harder the braking, the brighter the light. The connection between helmet and bike is completely wireless. :bowdown:

NOPE: from their website: "Detects all deceleration events whether it is engine braking, downshifting, or braking" "No need to wire anything to your motorcycle or install any apps! Fully self-contained with sensors and batteries inside, just power it on and ride"

I told you I did not know the technical stuff. :roflblack:

About a year ago I purchased a LED Brake Free Brake Light for my helmet. If you dont have one, I would highly recommend too get one. I ordered an extra mount for my wife's helmet when we ride 2 up.

I have been riding with the Brakefree LED Brake Light on my helmet and when my wife would ride, she had a mount on her helmet, a quick switch and we were riding. For about a year now I have had not problems, except to remember to turn it on. This is what I found;
